Old Tests Taken a Long Time Ago

So.. I took the SAT in 8th grade and got a 1860, and a 1900 in the 9th grade with no prep.

Now that I prepped a tremendous amount, I am predicting a 2300 or more, according the the blue book tests.

So, will it look strange that I had such a huge jump? Do the admissions people see the dates on the SAT tests? My first choice college has the policy of needing to see all score. Will I have to take it twice to show that I really can get more than 2300?

A lot of kids do “talent search” SAT tests when they are young. I believe a lot of schools promise to not look at a score from a talent search- but most schools use score choice anyway.

In short: Get the 2300+, and don’t worry about it. :)

I dont think it will matter. I’m assuming you are in 11th grade b/c you didn’t specify your grade. The last SAT you took was in 9th grade, and your score will definitely increase since then b/c you have prepped. It would look suspicious if you took the SAT once, got a 1900, and then then got a 2300 the next month.

LOL! I thought this would be about adults getting old scores. As in REALLY old - a friend is having to get the CB find her scores from the 1970s. That’s old.
Don’t worry - colleges are used to jumps like this over such periods of time. The 8th grade scores might not even show up.
