Olin degree if want to go into economic policy?

Would I be at a disadvantage for top grad schools in policy or law, if I major in Econ from Olin as opposed to artsci? I got into Olin and it was the only business school I applied to, but now I’m liking its employment prospects and would probably want to do some consulting/IB right out of college for a bit before grad. I’m also aware that I can switch into artsci, I’m just curious if it’s worth staying in Olin. Thoughts?

Stay in Olin and maybe get a minor in PoliSci or double major (Econ in Olin/PoliSci in Arts and Sciences).

It’s fairly easy to get a double major or minor across the different schools. Talk to your 4 year advisor once you’re assigned one.

@Hamurtle that’s what I was thinking, but if that ends up being too difficult for me, would degree(s) from within Olin suffice for good grad school placement for policy?

I don’t see why not-it should work fine if you have degrees from Olin and end up going to law school.

And no worries about a double major across different schools. My son knows someone in his dorm who is a CompSci/History double major so it is possible to graduate with majors across different school. I am confident that you can handle the work.

Also WashU Law School has a joint MBA with Olin IIRC so they do get students who have the business/law interests.
