I thought the last day for ALL financial aid forms and such was February 1? How come Cornell wants them on January 2?

They are quite lenient on financial aid dates.

Yeah I saw that too few days ago and freaked out. Since when do they want everything by Jan 2??? Every other school requires them by feb 15 or even march 1, but not in january!

Jeez! Thanks for the thread, or else I would have missed it. Been so wrapped up in applications, I haven’t even been checking financial aid deadlines.

HUH??? I do not have the time.

ridiculous.

for 120k–150k family income (three persons family), is it possible to get FA? It only says those families income below 100k could get FA.

It’s ok, there’s still a week to do it, and it’s break. Just ask your parents for their tax returns and you could easily do it in a day.

Yes, it is possible to get FA in the 120K - 150K range. We are in that range and got some aid, although we do have a family of 5, which I’m sure makes some difference. They also take into account your assets, so it is not entirely based on your income.

agh, well I’m leaving out of town tomorrow, and I’m not sure if I’m going to have access to the internet!

Is it possible to complete all FA forms in a day?

Waittt whaaa? For RD, they are due Jan 2nd?

As a poster above said, dont worry, Cornell is super lenient with FA apps

Okay good because Jan 2nd is just not going to happen.

I’m so glad I didn’t swear off CC (like I said I was going to) because then I wouldn’t have known about this deadline. Thanks guys ! :)

Does anyone know how to check the status of FA materials? I tried to access the “Financial Aid To Do List” on Cornell’s application status site, but it says I need a NetID to log in, not an ApplicantID.

@soad: Yeah I have the same issue haha. BUMP =]

i dont think its jan 2, fafsa comes out on the 1st, how can they expect you to do it all in 1 day

According to the website, FAFSA for Cornell is due May 1st.

You guys have plenty of time. Here’s what you do:
- Get your parents to give you copies of their 2008 tax returns and W-2s. Have them sign the bottom of the tax returns.
- Go to the College Board website, fill out the CSS, and have it sent electronically to Cornell (you’ll have to pay about $15 at this stage).
- Print the form found here: http://www.finaid.cornell.edu/finaid/forms/upload/Freshman-Financial-Aid-Applicationrev-2.pdf
- Fill out that form.
- Scan that form, along with your signed tax returns and W-2s.
- Attach the scanned forms to an email and send it to finaid@cornell.edu

That’s exactly what I did in the ED round and it worked out perfectly fine.

malan, that form is outdated, that was for my class
