Only 4.75% of ED applicants were accepted, but Columbia is known for deferring alot.
Also the coach told me that admissions does superscore on the SAT but not the ACT, who knows why.

Thankfully I got a likely letter once I committed to the school because I was a recruited athlete

I’m so excited! I’m an international and got a likely today through email (thank-you admissions office!). Good luck to everyone and hopefully I get to meet you all soon.

Very happy for you guys! This is a reach reach reach school for me so maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised haha. Glad to hear members of the forum being accepted and being proud!

Waiting for March 31st/April 1st is killing me… lol

SAT: 2300
SAT II: Math II 800, World History 730, Lit 700 (didn’t send the last one)
GPA: 4.0
and imma international with lots of need for aid too. Very surprised and happy. :)

SAT: 2280 (fall junior year)
SAT II: 800 Math II/800 World Hist/800 Chinese/790 Lit (fall/winter senior year)
GPA: 3.97 until first quarter junior year, then withdrew.

Currently studying music in Germany, and I technically never graduated from high school (only got the equivalent of a GED), so this came as a surprise. :)

I can explain one small possible reason for such late likelies.

All these schools announce about April 1. My daughter will be mostly finished with her Spring Break on that date (like a lot of you).

Let’s say one is lucky enough to get into 1 (or 2?) schools…it would be GREAT to be able to revisit (or first visit…we couldn’t afford to go see all her options). Lots of kids might want that option.

But, waiting to announce on April 1 - that will be too late to be able to afford air fare. Especially for international kids. Maybe the colleges want to induce them to schedule a visit? Coerce … er, um…I mean convince them it’s the best place for them.
