Always trying to attack me. Once again I am giving estimates and the score that was sent in by the school was different from my practice test scores. Please stop trying to aggravate me I don’t want another 7 pages of flame.

I don’t get how you can do all those classes and quiz bowl, debate and more and just get a 20 ACT. Take it again. My son took the ACT 3 times and did better each time.

OP:
Have you taken 10 minutes to do some homework to see what the profile is for incoming students at Michigan State?

If you did, you would see the middle 50% of freshman have:

# High school GPA: 3.41-3.85 [The average HS gpa was a 3.61]
Composite ACT: 23-27
Composite SAT (Critical Reading and Math): 1030-1250

Also 72% of of the freshman were in the top 25% of their HS graduating class.

This clearly puts you well into the bottom quartile. That means you’d better have some pretty stellar and compelling ECs to make up for this weakness. I see you “participated” in lots of ECs, but that doesn’t say anything about who you were in those activities.

At this point, you need to be realistic and consider this school a reach for you.

psilove please don’t post in here either. I highly doubt a 1800 SAT score = 28 ACT makes this school a reach. Please stop giving false information especially without an explanation.

I really don’t see why everyone is ignoring my SAT score which is well above average. I would like someone to actually look at those scores and then tell me my chances.

OP:
Just curious. Why is it on this thread you stated your SAT score as 1800, yet on other “chance me” threads, you state your SAT score as 2000. On some you say the scores came from practice tests. You posted these different SAT scores yesterday.

Credible replies can only come with credible input.

To save us all grief and time, please do some simple homework first. All schools post the profiles of their incoming classes. You can easily find those profiles and see how your profile matches up. You’ll then be able to come back here with valid data.

jpm, I am obviously posting those scores to see what my chances would be with those scores. I don’t see why everyone on the MSU boards are so rude while every other board has respectful people. Maybe instead of interrogating and investigating me you could be useful and give an honest response. Same goes for roman and psilovethomas.

People on the Boston College thread were pretty harsh too if I remember correctly.

Plus, we gave you honest answers. It’s just not what you wanted to hear. If you didn’t think we were “nice” the first time, why on earth would you post again? The same people are always on here.

PS: Where are you getting that 1800 = 28 ACT? First off, you can not convert the scores. Secondly, what is the break down of your scores?

i mean its nothing spectucular, i swithced schools twice and i realy had a hard time adjusting… but its nothing that i dont have to take full responsibilty for.

even if i got straight As my first semester of senior year id still be stuck wiht a 2.65 or so…

anyways , would my SAT score be enough to offset my terrible gpa?

All you can do is try. None of us here really know what MSU will say with such a gap between grades and test scores. If I were in your shoes I would at least try to explain to them why your scores are low in a essay or something.

It’s a reach unless you are an out of state student. With that in mind I suggest not applying unless you can afford to go there with absolutely no financial aid. My ACT was a 28 composite, 1850 SAT, and I had numerous college classes on the side and I did not receive a single dollar from them.

OP
assuming the 600 and 650 were for critical reading and math, that puts you in the 75th percentile @ MSU, which is good. but your GPA and other stats might bring you down a bit, maybe not to a reach, but I wouldn’t say your sure to get in.
