Who's waiting for results to come out?

Here!

Son is probably not quite up to the normal academic standards for Furman, hoping for a miricle based on musical ability. He will actually be on the Furman campus tommorrow and Sat for All State band clinic, maybe he can find someone to suck up to.

^If your son is on campus today, he may want to stop by Admissions and ask for his Admissions Counselor. He can tell them he is on campus for another event and just wanted to stop in to introduce himself or, if he has already met his AdCon, just to say hello. It shows a certain level of demonstrated interest. It may be too late to have any impact if the decision has already been made but it can’t hurt. Good luck!

3 more days! :)

Today’s the day!

do we know what time they’re going to be posted?
I’ve been checking ever 30 minutes since 6 A.M.!

5 pm…

seriously? That’s so late! That means I have to make it through a whole school day! I’m assuming thats 5 South Carolina time?

“Hey Dad, I just got into the most expensive college in the southeast”

It’s scary. As a parent, I am not going to know whether to be excited or dissapointed in the results - regardless of the results! Especially when son just recieved a VERY attractive scholarship offer from his last choice school.

I predict another wait-list :)

Thats even scary-er

Good luck to all! Maybe we will all meet on accepted students day! Hoping!! Also hoping for merit money!! :)

Oh, I was predicting that for me

Results are up, earlier than expected. Logged 2:05 EST in and found out S was accepted. Good luck!

Weird. Was already logged in; refreshed and got acceptance. Logged out, and when tried to log back in, it says site is down for maintenance and to check back after 5. Sorry to get everyone’s hopes up! Now I don’t know whether to believe the letter I saw or not. :(

Really sorry for getting anyone excited!

imagep–I don’t know if this will make you feel better or not, but Furman is not the most expensive in the southeast. Furman’s tuition, required fees, room and board (plus my estimate of $1000 for books) total $50,752 for next year; Wake Forest’s charges total $54,011 and the University of Richmond’s charges total $52,120.

momdoc–the same thing happened to me regarding the Coca-Cola Scholarship. Apparently the results were posted for mere moments at the time I happened to be checking. Some accused me of being a ■■■■■ when I commented on the results and the results were no longer available. (Some defended me, for which I was grateful.) My guess is that the system is tested before it goes live, and to do that the results are posted very briefly. In the case of the CCS, the official results seemed to be the same as when I viewed them briefly. I hope this helps!

My son had the acceptance notification also, I just checked and it is still there so I hope that wasn’t a mistake - or should I hope it is a mistake? I bet he holds the record for the lowest GPA and SAT to ever be accepted at Furman, we are really excited and surprised as Furman was he “reach” school.

Now we just have to wait for music scholarship info. He got a very nice (more than the college admits that it can award) music scholarship offer from his last choice school.

Seems as if you were logged in when they went off-line you can still access, but if you weren’t you can’t get in until 5. Should have just hit the refresh button again instead of logging out to double check! Thanks for the support, Schokolade.

Oh well, at least my son can log in now when he gets home, since I’ll have to leave before 5 pm EST. I’m surprised no one has take us to task for checking our kids’ accounts, imagep. Congrats to your son–I hope the notification was real!

Correct me if I’m wrong but there are 2:30 hours left? These timezones are messing me up :)

PS: Congrats for your son’s acceptance.

Kulix–Now less than one and a half hours left until 5pm Eastern.
