I've worked two jobs and also done a good amount of community service, including volunteering at a children's hospital last summer.

My only thing is, sophomore year I got a D in algebra 2 (family issues were troubling me). But the next year, I got an A in precalculus, and now I am in AP Calc and have an A. Will that D hurt me too much?

The SAT Score alone qualifies you for the Woodrow Scholarship which would give you highly discounted tuition. It’s slightly more than in-state tuition but still a significant break in cost. My S is a sophomore and had equal to slightly higher stats than yours. My D was accepted also and she had lower stats than yours (SAT’s lower by 100 points). I don’t think you’ll have any problem at all getting accepted and qualifying for some scholarship aid. Oh, and they aren’t going to see the D from Algebra in your sophomore year. Most transcripts don’t break down that way so I wouldn’t worry about that. Your final GPA of Junior year and all of Senior year are what will be judged.
