Opinions on reporting certain AP scores on college applications?

Now it is pretty widely known, unless you are a quick to disaster person, that if you get a 4 or 5 on an AP test, that your chances of getting into and IVY or prestigious school are not hindered. However, I wanted to open this to get peoples opinions on other scores and what to do with them? I placed my opinion below and would love to hear yours

5- POST IT POST IT
4- Pretty good, would still post it
3- Depends on college, state schools I would post, but getting into IVY or “Public Ivies”, I would not
2- Depends on college you are going to, but for majority, I would not post
1- Don’t post it, what were you even doing?

Also general knowledge for all AP score receivers of the next week:

-AP Scores are meant to be benchmarks for placement/credit in your course selections once you are admitted to a college, nothing more.

-AO will glance at your AP scores, just to see what you have listed but it will carry virtually no weight. (I.E. if you get rejected from Harvard, it wasn’t because you scored a 3 on APUSH.)

-AP Scores will also just work as a checks/balance system. If you have an A+ in AP Calc BC, but scored a 1 on the exam, that’s a bad look. (IF THAT IS THE CASE, JUST DON’T REPORT THAT SCORE) Conversely, if you have a B- in the class, but score a 5 on the exam, that works in your favor.

-At the end of the day, you are SELF REPORTING these scores. Meaning the AO only know what you show them. Don’t feel comfortable sharing a 2 on AP Physics? Fine, don’t report it. They’re not gonna waste their time speculating why every single score isn’t reported, considering applications are generally read within a span of 15 minutes.

Totally agree. While you will spend hours and hours perfecting what you think is the perfect application, the AO will spend 12-15 minutes tops on it, and will not be microanalyzing the minutiae.

Regardless of the level of the college, I would not report a 1 or a 2, but I would report a 3+.

Share what you want to share. But a 3 and above is passing, and I would recommend sharing those scores.
