As everyone is getting accepted into VTECH ED, I'm getting more and more nervous about applying regular decision because my parents did not allow me to do a binding decisions, please offer me some opinions on whether I'll make it?

Major: General Engineering (Computer Science)
GPA: 4.25 Weighted
SAT: 650 Math 670 CR
Currently: Taking 5 APs including AP comp sci and AP Calc
I've kept an overall A or A- in my previous math classes

I do several extra curriculars and have two small officer positions.
I'm also from nova, and I heard its more competitive?

Please offer me some opinions :/

It’s hard when you see people posting acceptance posts and you start wondering “hey, is there going to be any room for me?!?”. There are schools that do fill up a good percentage of their class during their ED process.

The Freshman Snapshot for the Class of 2016 has information that helps here…

By the Numbers
Number of freshman applicants: 20,355
Number offered admission: 14,176
Number accepting the offers of admission: 5,544
Percentage of the Class of 2016 accepting under the Early Decision Plan: 19%

[Freshman Snapshot | Undergraduate Admissions | Virginia Tech](http://www.admiss.vt.edu/apply/freshman-snapshot/)

So, over 80% of the class of 2016 was accepted during Regular Decision. :)

nervous311,

I would think so. Your GPA, SATS and class rigor look strong. I think alot will depend on how you do between now and RD application. Continue to take rigorous classes and do well is my best advice. My middle son was just accepted ED at VT engineering.

Good luck!

Yes 100% if your school is a +1 for ap/ib classes. However, they look at your grades too. Id say 2 or more C’s are not good. And you need some afterschool activities
