My concern is not the classes I’m taking, as I’ve always been hard working. My worries stem from my lack luster organization skills. Not lackluster in the sense that I lose homework, I passed all my honors classes last year with A+ averages. But it took me a lot of time to get ready for my classes, let me explain. Last year, I carried 7 notebooks, 1 for each class, 7 textbooks, 1 for each class, and no normal backpack was able to hold all the weight. I had to go to school with a traveling bag because that was all that could carry my books. Lockers were pointless because I had to take all my books home anyways. My question is this. How many notebooks should I buy for these classes? Can I just use 1 notebook at a time for my two math classes? Also, this would be a big help. How many pages of notebook would go through in any one given quarter for classes like AP history or AP bio? I’m excited for both of those classes, I did really well in the honors versions last year. But I don’t have the money to be buying new notebooks every quarter. Me and my mom already live paycheck to paycheck as it is.
Have you thought about just buying a big binder and putting in dividers for each class and lose notebook paper? That’s what I do. It’s a lot easier for me to have everything in one place.
The binder can be a little bit expensive comparatively, but you can use them for years. I think it’s a worthwhile investment.
Sorry double post
^I agree. You can buy a lot of filler paper in bulk, rather than 7 notebooks.
That’s also a good idea. Most schools either have Trig, PreCalc or Trig/PreCalc as a combined class. Never both as separate classes.
In my Trig/PreCalc class last year I burned through a 3 subject notebook (120 pages) from September to about early-mid March and went loose leaf for about 2 weeks. After realizing I couldn’t pass if I kept doing so I bought a one subject notebook that lasted the rest of the year. Since APUSH and Bio are very writing intensive and have a lot of out of class assignments/reading, I would have to assume it would take a lot more than 2 notebooks. This varies by school though. Same goes for AP Lang- a lot of essay writing is required.
