I'll repost this here b/c I believe this would be the right forum:

What would probably say would be the minimums for an Out-of-State applicant to be admitted to:

A)College of William & Mary
B)University of Virginia
C)Virginia Tech

As much insight as you have please for SATs, GPA, ECs, and every bit in between.

Minimums are hard to say. It's a subjective thing.

I'd say to feel good about UVA or W&M, look for a 2000+ or so (I still can't get used to the new SAT numbers), a top 10% class rank, and good extracurriculars.

Tech is less selective.

I'm an incoming Freshman at W+M (in-state,) and I don't know exactly what it takes for an out of state student to make it in.

What I do know is that many of the out of state kids that come to W+M also apply to HYPS as well as places like Cornell and Duke. Many get into one or more of those schools, and still choose to come to W+M. Its pretty selective for OOSers.
