out of state?

Does being out of state significantly help a person's chances of getting in? I hear this around but is it true or just a rumor?

It has been suggested that OOS’ers have a “leg up” IF their credentials are competitive, ie: GPA/Scores/ECAs.
If they’re average, probably not.

It makes it somewhat less competitive. Since you’re not competing against everyone else in your school, you have an easier time standing out and looking good for admission. That said, you can’t have terrible scores and still get in, but it’s somewhat easier. There are plenty of Jersey kids at Bing though.
