Oxbridge Carnegie Hill apartment

I wonder if anybody who lives in NYC knows about this apartment, and how good their service may be.

The address is 1412 Madison Ave, which is like one or two blocks south of Mt. Sinai.

I am mainly concerned about the reliability of this place, that is, will they possibly cancel your reservation at the last minute? After all, this is not a hotel whose service is what we are more familiar with.

An alternative is to find a hotel near the grand central station, and then take a cab or subway line 6 (?) to 1468 Madison Ave. Where to get off the subway? (with a large baggage, is it very inconvenient to take the subway?) Is it possible to get hold of a cab during early morning rush hours (e.g., 7:00 am)?

Some said it is almost impossible to find a cab in the rush hours in NYC. Is it true?

Sorry about asking well too many questions in one post.

As you can probably tell, this is for the interview at Mt. Sinai :)

Thanks!

I had no problem staying by the airport and catching a cab in for my NY interviews.

mmmcdowe, Thanks!

DS will get to NYC by train. That is the reason why I think it may be more convenient for him to catch a cab in front of Grand Central Station, if he could not catch a cab from his hotel.

I always think it is more convenient to catch a cab from a major airport. But I do not know how easy to do the same at a major train station like Grand Central Station. I have never been in NYC myself.

Maybe I worry too much as a parent, as DS was in NYC multiple times. His mom thinks it may be good to stay at the apartment that I mentioned (because it is so close to the medical school), but I am not sure. If a traveler or a group of travelers need to stay in NYC for a week, renting an apartment like this may be a good idea. But just for one night? And you need to pick up the key elsewhere and there is no front desk like you have at a hotel.

Thanks again.
