@ProudGrad2015 PaCE students do not have access to Student Health Services and do not pay that fee.
@taymafra7 To accept a PaCE offer you have to pick a PaCE major. You will transition to campus in that major (or any PaCE major if you meet the tracking GPA/courses). Once you are on campus you are allowed to switch majors, just like any residential student can. PLEASE NOTE - in most majors it is not easy to switch after you have 60 credits. Please contact an advisor in the College you are interested in (College of the Arts for the Digital Arts and Sciences major) to discus your particular major.
If you accept the PaCE offer and once in PaCE decide you would like a major that is NOT in PaCE (i.e. not transition to campus in a PaCE major) you will have to fill out a transfer application. This situation would be like you were transferring from another University. You would not be guaranteed a spot in a non-PaCE major in this situation.
If you are in PaCE and decide to stay in UF Online and not transition to campus you could take any of the UF Online majors (include non-PaCE ones like PSY and Crim). In this situation you would receive a 25% tuition discount for your entire degree.
Hi everyone. I have been informed that there were issues with the mailbox: CLASPaCE@advising.ufl.edu.
It is now working. If you sent something to this mailbox at anytime in the last few days PLEASE resend. Thanks.
This is also the mailbox that all pre-health questions should be addressed to.
@ProudGrad2015 If you already have health insurance, you can use any of the walk-in clinics in Gainesville, including a few right next to campus.
Last November, we used CareSpot, since student health center was closed (on a Saturday I think). It’s walking distance from campus.

We have a ton of questions, but are hoping to weave together a truer “freshman experience” for our daughter who has been offered PaCE. We own a 4 BR home in Gainesville, just a mile off campus, that her brother lived in while he got both his BS and master degrees at UF. He is back again for round 3 now doing an MBA, living in his wife’s home. He will have access to student activities/benefits she will be denied, like the wellness center, etc.
But we are thinking she will feel more like she is really a Gator if she lives in Gainesville while doing the online work. It would be great to have 3 more PaCE women to join her, so they could have similar studies to pursue & seek out ways to live into a full Gator experience in Gainesville. My own UF freshman year was pivotal in my life, & I hate for my daughter to be the only person in our family (me, her brother, & 2 cousins) to have a less than optimal start to her higher education at UF. So,it is worth the money to us, for her to be away in Gainesville, in order to make up for the less desireable online version of starting her life as a Gator.
So I hope, since this is a new program, to at least let these students feel somewhat “normal” by relaxing some of the areas they are restricted from being able to access. I believe there will be a fair number of PaCE students opt for “Residential experience” in Gainesville while taking the required online classes.
According to this site http://www.advising.ufl.edu/pace-pathways-to-campus-enrollment/ I don’t need to declare a major until my 3rd term of enrollment? Since I should have enough credits to only need to do the minimum 2 semesters of PaCE, could I just complete PaCE as an undecided/exploratory major and then declare my major as Finance right before transitioning to campus?
@MDugg9 you are correct that you have three semesters in “exploratory” if you wish (just like residential students). However, you will not be able to transition to campus in Exploratory. You will need to declare a major. You can stay in UF Online for three semesters in Exploratory if you wish. If you would like to transition to campus after two semesters, you will need to have a PaCE major (and all the tracking requirements for that major).
@revdocpam (and others!). Thank you for your message. We are looking into having PaCE (and for that matter non-PaCE UF Online) students who are interested in coming to Gainesville to have a more “residential student” experience. We may have some additional info on one or two things that will help with this issue in the next 1-2 days. I will post that info here as well as the PaCE FAQ when we sort out the details.
This reply is for revdocpam…we also have a daughter that got into the Pace program and wants to have the college experience that her older sister did at UF. We would love to try and talk to you about possibly having the girls talk and see if they may want to try and live together. not sure if its ok to post emails or phone numbers on this site so we can try and get in touch with each other??
Would students doing PaCe be taking the same prerequisite classes that residential students would be taking? Would they be taking What is the good life course online?
This reply is for gatormom52 and revdocpam. My daughter would also like to have the same experience her sister had at UF. Would also be interested in speaking to you both about living in Gainesville. How should we communicate?
Is general business major that the PaCE students may select?
@mims19 Yes, it’s the Business Administration, General Studies (BA) (or BABA)
For those who are discussing matching up potential roommates, just private message each other to exchange contact info.
@Teremuniz All freshman at UF take “What is the Good Life” (this is a general education course). There is a wonderful online version of the course that has recently been completed.
The curriculum, as far as requirements, for PaCE students are the same as for residential students. Tracking requirements to come to campus (compared to tracking requirements for transfer students) may be different in some majors. Please contact the College you are interested to get the specifics. Hope this helps and I realize this can be somewhat confusing!
@UFOnline What was the average ACT/SAT score was for students admitted into PACE? As well, the average GPA?
@emmiebells1 Any questions regarding enrollment information of the PaCE class should be directed to UF Admissions.
We feel ‘info deprived’ and really want to make an informed decision - my daughter has several other really excellent offers, but we ‘bleed’ orange and blue in our family…and it never really occurred to us she might not get in. Her first response was “They told me NO!” That was a quickly followed by an extended family ‘waterfall’ as family and friends wept and bemoaned her fate!
But she is settling in now to the idea that with some creative planning - and a great deal of flexibility AND commitment - she might yet be a true Gator! The goal is the same - to be part of the UF Class of 19, and even with this convoluted web based route - that is still a distinct possibility for her via this emerging program PaCE.
We look forward to being part of the chat sessions listed on the UF website for us to discover how to make this work for our students. Thanks much to UFOnline for being our support late into the night and early into the morning
Can you post the info for the chat sessions?
@revdocpam Thanks! Hopefully we (UF) have been able to help provide the info you need to make an informed decision. Please contact Admissions/UF/College at UF if you have ANY additional questions. This is a new program, as everyone realizes, and we want to welcome many new Gators in the coming year!!!
Your daughter IS a Gator of the class of 2019!
