I got deferred from FSU because of my stats. Basically my grades got worse over the years. My junior grades on my transcripts were: B, A, B, B, C, B, B, B. My highest test scores were 1630 and a 23. This year however, my semester grades are B, B, A, A, A, A, B, A and after doing a few practice tests (taking the actual test this week), my score totals up to be 1780-1810. Do I have a good chance with these stats.

What is your unweighted and weighted GPA? That might help me chance you.

3.2 and 4.8 but they’ll go up after this week

You have a good chance. How many/how strong are your EC’s?

Over 200 hours of community service by the end of my senior year and I’m an active member in a variety of clubs at my school

Bringing up your test scores, especially your ACT score, is probably what FSU is looking for. If you end up bringing up your test scores you will have a good shot at being accepted.

Until you do that though, there’s no way of telling. Your low ACT score was likely why you were rejected. Bring up your ACT score and that will be a big help.

Won’t they just use my higher score though? I am also retaking the ACT just incase

A 23 ACT score corresponds roughly to a 1590 SAT (a 24 ACT score is roughly 1650). So unfortunately, your SAT score in your post and your ACT score aren’t far off from each other: while, yes, FSU would use the better score, there really isn’t much variance.

If you end up getting an 1800 SAT score, that will help a lot, as it would be a huge jump. That isn’t to say that you’ll be guaranteed acceptance, but it would help.
