parking permit question

for the 180$/semester parking lot, is it 24/7 hour parking? and is it guarded? would it be safe to leave my car there for weeks and weeks?

yes. all my friends leave their cars there and they have some PRETTY darn nice cars.

they don't drive them that often either.

Help! What kind of parking will I have to settle for if I buy my permit in August? I registered to buy a permit online but I just found out I can't because they require you to register your vehicle first. Problem is, I don't have a car yet - I'm overseas and I'm only going to buy one when I get to LA. Also, do the campus cruisers or trams take you to the off-campus lots? I'm a grad student and I expect a number of my classes will be in the evenings. I don't really wanna be walking alone at night to a really far parking lot!

Trams will take you to the off-campus lots.. but you should check out the schedule. you'll have to wait for a campus cruiser to pick you up for awhile (long waiting list)

I think if you buy it by August you MIGHT get UPC (1-2 blocks away) but parking goes EXTREMELY fast... You might be able to get one if somebody decides to sell their lot or something. Or you can do the coin parking like my friend was doing.

Which lot are you talking about, OP btw? University Parking Center is guarded and its 24/7.... I leave my car there for weeks and weeks lol

My lot was sold out before the lottery even started.

since were not going to know where our housing is by the time parking permits are available on the 10th and therefore proximity to our dorm wont matter, is there any other reason to prefer a certain structure over another? I assume they are all the same as far as being guarded, etc...but im not positive. anyone know?
