Do students at Michigan party hard or do most students study more on weekends?

i’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Michigan is competing with UT as the biggest party school.

Oh, and…have you not seen american pie?

Texas has a bigger partying scene. Michigan is still good, at least for a top 30 school.

In my dorm it seems like most people go out on the weekends and leave homework for saturday mornings and for sunday evenings. I stay in and do homework on weekends. I feel like you could probably do whatever you want and still have lots of company.

I would say it’s a good balance. A lot of kids freshmen year will go out Thurs/Fri/Sat (and maybe more) most weekends. I find that you tone it down as you get older. There’ll always be those kids that study all the time, but I find most kids find time to party sufficiently and get their work done as well. It’s important to figure out the appropriate balance for you individually, depending on how good you want your grades to be.

Basically, the students at UM have a play hard/study hard mentality and truthfully there’s more interaction(partying) on Central Campus than North Campus because of the proximity to everything. Btw, alot of freshman party on the weekends because they want to let loose and think they had a really difficult week. When in reality the upperclassmen have it worse and study more on the weekends, however still party as well sometimes. This all has to relate to each individual’s maturity level and what they’re capable of accomplishing given the circumstances.
