Hamilton is in a rural area....what is there to do?

They have an amazing outing club. Don’t think that because Hamilton is in a rural area, the students will just drink and party all the time. I mean it is a big part of college life, but it’s not centered upon partying. You can choose whether or not you want to be a part of the drug/alcohol scene. I know that another website has given a D- for drug use at Hamilton, but I’m pretty sure that it’s your choice. Hopefully, you’ll make the right choice if you’re admitted.

What do most students do on the weekend? How’s the town?

Cow tipping? JK.

The town seemed quaint. I don’t really remember though, clinton, ny right?

Seemed like an outdoorsy school. and it’s near the Adirondacks right? I’m sure that there’s a party there.

I’m very happy with Hamiltons party scene, it gets as crazy as you want it to be. If you come to party youll definitly have a good time. We usually have a rager at least once a week on saterday or friday with smaller parties on thursday. Bring your A game haha

i’ve gone bowling in town, there’s always an SK film playing in one of the buildings on campus, and my friends and i bake cookies a lot in the dorm oven. I’m a big fan of the Late Nite events (non-alcoholic events hosted by clubs in the barn on friday nights)… there’s been a Mario Kart tournament, techno party, martial arts lesson, and a karaoke night to name a few examples. CAB also brings in a lot of musicians and comedians. there’s always too many things to do!!!

I agree with all that’s been said. Parties exist and are awesome, but so are the CAB and the Late Night events. Also, I have a bunch of friends who don’t party that often and they like to play games like Mafia or Apples to Apples and just hang out. I don’t know about you, but I think there’s something very fun about just hanging out with your friends, watching a movie or playing a game.

While Hamilton is in a small town, it’s quite a hike by foot to get there–half an hour including a big hill. I live in Clinton, and see very few Hamilton students; for the most part, they stay on campus. And there are definitely things to do on campus, or so I’ve heard. So pretty much, if you go, expect to spend most of your time at Hamilton (I’m not saying that you never go–like there’s usually a crowd who goes down to the Cider Mill in the fall and such, but not frequently).
I’ve also heard from Hamilton students that the frats are much more prominent in the social scene than the admissions officers let on. Just a thought.
