Passed semester, failed Exam

So I just want to know if I still have a chance at some of my top schools I’m applying to. I passed the class with a 97 but I failed my test with a 58. I honestly wasn’t feeling well, but I know that my mid year report will be sent out to al my schools. The course is a AP class. Do you still think I have a chance or should I start reconsidering other universities ?

Do you have a safety? If so, you’re fine. I think you’ll be OK anyway if the semester grade includes your test.

You failed the final? The AP test? I’m not sure what we’re talking about?

Like I passed the class but my midterm grade is a F. I don’t understand how’s that even possible. It’s not the AP exam but I want to see if anything if I still have a chance at some of the top schools I’m applying to.

How much was the final weighted? That doesn’t seem possible. Have you talked to the teacher? An f on your mid term report is going to be a big problem.

My final grade is a 84 and I did. There’s nothing she can do. But now I’m confused. Does for final grades for the semester get sent or is it your grades + midterms ? Or does it depend on the school.

Go look at your transcript to see what is shown on it. My HS used to have midterms and finals and they were a separate grade from the quarter grades.

Wait does the GC send your transcript or your report card? If it’s my transcript will be my average grade for quarter 1&2 with midterms or will they all be separate

Your transcript

There is no standard; some include semester exams, some do not. As @bodangles said, ask to see your transcript so you can see what is on it.

From previous years my transcript only carries the final grade from the class. So I’m guess that in this case it will do the same.

You can confirm what is sent to colleges by talking to your guidance counselor.

Unfortunately she wasn’t at school today, I will ask her on Monday, but I need to prepare for the worst

Okay, so I asked her today and everything worked out! She is sending my transcript with my quarter 1 & 2 as my mid year report.
