Pending Ivy Transfers

Same here.. Engineering, I got the course catalog at the end of March as well. Still waiting to find out... should find out soon though, got an email saying they are reviewing my app.

i find that there are so many peopel applying for cornell. i have just sent my midterm report out. severals weeks ago i sent one with another applicant but mine was lost whereas the other's has been arrived. so i have to resend it.

and i get a question. is the midterm report is very important for the admission?

Yes it is very important. In some cases, it's a make or break situation. Sometimes they use the midyear as the last opportunity to evaluate your academics to date.

i am an international applicant . in my university, i don't think applicants treat the midterm report serious. and some of my courses do not have a midterm test. so how do the committees know if the grade on the report is true and how can grades represent the applicant's rank or something else, for there is only grade?

You have to have a professor fill out a midyear report. I'm sure the professor or whomever is responsible for your grade can assess your academics to give you a grade. I do not think applicant's rank will play a role because they don't ask for it..

which major do you apply or you just apply for the early decision? it is so early to get the acceptance. congratulations!

i am a transfer applicant. there is no early decision plan for transfer applicants. Some Cornell schools are rolling, which means they notify you as they make the decision, which explains why they are fast.

my major is human bio health and society in Human Ecology.

thanks!

is there anyone getting the decision from CALS? i applied for biological science in CALS. and can anybody tell me the differences between biological science in CAS and CALS? thanks very much!

another question. if i cannot be accepted by my first-choose major, is there any possibility to shift to my second choose? thank you!

i have also applied CALS for biological science.

i would suppose that bio program in CALS is more pre-med orientated (seeing the name LIFE SCIENCE) while the bio program in CAS is more for research and scientist.

i think everyone gets the catalog.

and do you know anyone who has been accepted by CALS? i don't think so
my status just shows "have not made a decision......"

hiphim, when you apply, you can apply for one major or undecided (i think).

if you don't get accepted, that's that. there's no first choice, second choice major to fall back on.

but when i filled the personal application there was a blank asking me what is my second choose. so you mean that is not for fall applicants?

i might be wrong on this...let me look over the app.

EDIT: Ah I see it now. That is only for CALS and Engineering. I'm sorry heh. Then I really don't know what they'd do. Maybe someone with more insight on this can help you!

There is a spot on the app for a second choice major.

"If you are applying to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences or the College of Engineering, what is your second-choice field of study?"

I don't know how they use this though...

-Eddie-

I'm thinking engineering should at least have some of the decisions down and set, but they refuse to release any of them since it doesn't do rolling.

great, now i have my dean's letter missing for brown.

anyone got any idea about its format? i told my dean to write a letter of recommendation, but it seems that brown merely want something to indicate that i am in good standing.

gah...cals sucks...i thought they were releasing the decisions today cuz it's the 15th.
