Pending Ivy Transfers

Did your message disappear yet?

I think I read somewhere saying that they'll start releasing decisions next week?

gah...i heard they were releasing on the 15th. grr...i was too busy to go to roberts and ask them.

Maybe you can check tonight at midnight. If nothing, they maybe next week.

well, not exactly. i mailed the CALS admissions something about my midterm report, and they tell me that Decisions will go out on a rolling basis starting the end of April and continuing into May. so there is still time to wait.

The rolling schools usually have the bulk of their decisions made by teh end of April. However, there are instances in which applicants hear earlier. But basically, decisions will come out soon. Just how soon? That's another question some people would like to know..

my midterm report is on the road and will arrive in two days. so , perhaps the undecided words will disappear as soon as all my application materials are complete, and they can tell me their decision , you mean?

sorry for my naive question. what is a rolling basis in the admission. i come from China and i have never heard that before. can anybody explain it for me? thanks!!

Rolling admissions basically means that the decisions are made as the adcoms review the applications, unlike regular admissions where the bulk of the decisions usually will only be made after reviewing the whole pool of the applications.
Are you applying from a chinese school?

I believe that once they receive your midyear, they can use it to make the final decision as to accept you or not. Hopefully once they make that decision, it will be updated on their computers and you should see the decision in a few days.

yes, i apply from a chinese university. my university has a transfer program with cornell and last year there were 7 students accepted. i apply this year and hope that i can be there this fall........

Did you apply to CALS? I think u mentioned that a few post back.

Good luck! Keep us posted.

i do apply for biological science of CALS because that is the college which has program with my university. i heard that international application is harder than national students. so i have to wait a little bit longer to see what the final result will be.

Ahh, now I am curious. Which college do you attend if you don't mind me ask? I'm unaware of any transfer program between Cornell and a school abroad like the one you mentioned.

hiphim, i am also a chinese person but i came from china during my highschool years.

i deeply respect your struggle for upbringing. only a few understand our situation.

i come from China Agricultural University. i am not sure if it is a trnasfer program. i call it like that only because president of CAU told so. but the rate of acceptance is relatively high, say 7 last year. i also get confused about something when i applied.

i cannot possibly have my midterm report in april, this quarter was just started (i was told to send midterm grade of my spring quarter)

hi! blackdream, i am very glad to know someone like you that can understand my experience, even part of them. do you get anything information about your application?

not yet.

on a personal note, leaving one's country can be a VERY diffcult thing to cope. those that are previously insignificant to you (a nation's anthem for example), will become significant.

i have to go for a while. i really appreciate your suggestions!! my msn is ehilhip@hotmail and see if we can have to chat via MSN, see you

i recieved my letter in the mail today....

they accepted 30 out of my 35 credits as transferrable but they are asking for my schools course catalog and syllabus so i can get more credits.

also the letter is actually signed by Peggy Walbridge. how nice :) most schools don't even sign it.

it was in an regular envelope, that is a 4x9.
