Penn, UPenn or neither

In my Why Penn essay, can I use Penn as an abreviation or should it be UPenn or should I not appreviate the school's name at all
....
also
.....
should I write the optional essay...or is it really..optional, cause i can't think of anything that woudn't be repeated cause they do already have like 4 essays/short answers

Penn/full name (you should change it up if you use the name several times) ...and i would do the optional essay anyway.

first time i mentioned the school i used the full name, university of pennsylvania, after that i stuck to penn. It's not really a colloquialism, all the faculty call the school "Penn" anyways.

The question itself uses "Penn" so I'd assume that's alright.

alternate between the full university of pennsylvania and Penn. Never upenn. Thats just tacky

You should never ever use UPenn.

You can always use Penn - don't think of it as an abbreviation. It's a genuine renaming brought on by the rebranding efforts.

Also, it's The Wharton School. Not the wharton school of business, and not the wharton school of finance (not anymore, at least, mr trump).

Sorry to beat the dead horse, but there's no greater giveaway that someone has no knowledge about the school than to call it UPenn - that phrase should only be uttered when writing email addresses or websites (which is where it comes from).
