We are accepted to pre major status, how hard is it to get into the major? I read the ucla econ website and it says transfer students needs to get a 3.5 in two of the econ classes. Since grades are given by curve, which means that only a few people get A, I think it is pretty hard to get a 3.5.

Have you guys heard any stories about hardship of getting into the major?

before it was that you had to get a 3.3 in the pre req courses...now, they have a new requirment for transfer...
to apply for bizecon, you have to have:

Have a 3.5 gpa in econ 11 & 101 and a 3.3 overall UCLA gpa
or
2. Have a 3.3 gpa in econ 11 & 101 and a 3.5 gpa for econ 11, 101 and all econ courses taken by the time econ 101 is completed that have econ 11 as a pre-requisite and a 3.3 overall UCLA gpa.

CONGRATS smith415!! :)
that sort of makes me feel better, especially cause your major is impacted, I'll be applying this fall but my major will be Mathematics/Economics and I'll also be tap certified.

That sounds hard as hell coming straight out of a CC, CC econ is a joke compared with Cal's (IE in CC we learn how to graph linear equations and at Cal they involve Calculus from the get go).

so i still havent heard anything from UCLA!!!
