I was accepted March 19th to the USC film school. My application status says it is still being reviewed. I guess they don’t update your status. My weighted GPA is a 4.2 and my unweighted is a 3.8. My SAT score was 2170. I have twin cousins that live around the corner from me, and they still have not heard from USC. There GPA is about the same as mine, but there test scores were not as good. Good luck to everyone!

taylor29, yeah the statuses of most accepted students end up at “being reviewed”. However, has yours ever been at “forwarded” and then switched to what it currently is? This can be a major difference as far as status tracking goes.

Congrats btw =)

Hey dj,
I auditioned for theater, as did you. The GPA and SAT/ACT scores aren’t a very big deal for those of us trying to get into the theater program. The audition is everything. You should follow the Theater/Drama Majors forum here on CC, and read all the stuff on USC there. There have only been two acceptances so far. ONLY TWO!! So for theater, it’s not getting late at all. I actually spoke to someone in the theater department about two weeks ago, and she told me that “we will be making offers to our top choices first; then we have counteroffers; then we make our way down our list. It takes awhile, but we will notify by April 1.” I didn’t want to be a pest and ask for a detailed explanation about “offers” and “counteroffers,” so I just said thanks and let her go. I had actually phoned about something else, so I only wanted to take minimal time asking about when we would hear from them. If they want us, it will be because of our audition. Then they run it by Admissions to make sure our stats don’t keep us out. But I gotta say, that stuff about offers and counteroffers threw me for a loop. I have never, never read anything on CC about that! I wonder how it is that they “negotiate” their way to a full class.

My d has 2130 SAT, 32 ACT, is a valedictorian, and her status is “still in review”.

violetsky

I didn’t audition I only did the B.A. and they don’t give auditions for it. I’m worried that they won’t see my talent just through my resume and essay (forgive me if that statement comes off as arrogant), plus I didn’t even get a phone interview. I’m worried that they got my application a day or two after, and aren’t going to consider it. I sent it priority by the extended deadline, but idk if something got messed up. It’s very frustrating, because I don’t want to call now and ask and have them tell me that they didn’t get it, or get it and wonder why I’m calling now, so late in March, to ask UGH. Frustrating.

@taylor29 - you should post that in the SCA thread. :)

@mimizist I’m the opposite! 3.6 UW/2310
all my friends who’ve gotten in seem to have really high gpa’s, “mediocre” SATs…

Hi Everyone!!

I have been being reviewed forever, East coast (29ACT, 3.9UW GPA) and today I changed to forwarded. Let’s hope that is a good thing.

Good luck Everyone!

@radbunny really? how low of SATs?
the wait is really killing me. i had a dream about my USC status last night… this is not good :(

Finally, USC is getting to the East Coast. My status just changed to forwarded as well. 4.24/2080.

I’m thinking maybe because they have so many applicants this year, probably admitting the most qualified first etc etc.

Same here. I’ve been at “being reviewed” since December. Today it changed for the first time to “forwarded.” Good sign? Let’s hope so

okay so 3 people on the east coast went to forwarded today.
the two of you have better SAT’s than me (only took ACT, but converted) but all of the scores were within middle 50%

maybe it is a good sign! scores are not super impressive but are decent, maybe USC is getting to the later acceptances now, with just average stats on the east coast?!

Come on!! i wanna be a Trojan ):

my d’s status just changed to forwarded. Illinois (obviously)

I’ve been review/april 1/11 whatever since december…3.8, 31 ACT, awesome EC’s/essays/recs…from Arizona

my status changed to forwarded today. I WISH EVERYONE GOOD LUCK!

still at “being reviewed”
dont remember when it changed from forwarded, feels like months

Today, March 26, my USC onling status still stands at ‘being reviewed’ (it changed a few days ago from ‘being forwarded’). However, there is a new link on my profile that takes me to a page where I can register for orientation and submit a commitment payment. No letter yet, but I’m thinking that’s a good thing?

Today, March 27, I recieved my acceptance letter and welcome package in the mail.

@ junebug and dbroncos…
i’m from ct, too. i haven’t heard yet, so i’m starting to assume. a couple kids from my school applied, but i only know of one that received his letter this weekend and got accepted… have either of you heard yet?
