****PITT CLASS OF 2021 DECISIONS THREAD****

I just received a letter from Pitt saying they want to see my mid-year grades before they review my application again. Does that mean I am wait listed?

@srk2017, Your Pitt Application is due by November 15 if you would like to be considered for the Med School GAP. At that point, invitations to apply for the Med GAP will go out by January and those who are invited to interview will do so in March. Hope that helps clarify! Take a look at the link I shared for more detailed info.

@rtsoccer, No, it does not mean you’re waitlisted. It simply means that the Admissions Committee would like to see a little more information before making a final decision. Best of luck!

@fazevan I got admitted to Nursing.
I have a 32 ACT
4.383 weighted GPA and 3.87 unweighted
Rank is 69/530ish
OOS
(I’m also taking Nursing class this year to be a CNA at school and have taken other medical/health classes throughout freshman, sophomore, and junior year so they may have also helped me a lot)

Well of course you did, you a beast @ijustneedhelp

I myself am still waiting, applied in July 24th, and since I’m here I guess I will say my stats and you guys can tell me what you think if you want to.

-UW GPA: 3.64, Got a 1340/1600 on the new SAT, 680 Math and 660 Reading/Writing
-Class Rank: School Doesn’t rank by individual spots but ranks by decile. My guidance counselor told me I’m just outside the top 10% and sitting at 37/320 but since my school only officially ranks by decile, I just had to apply saying second decile.

I’m taking Calc BC and AP Physics currently, doubled up on AP Bio and first year honors intro Physics last year. Oh yeah and applying for Swanson School of Engineering, Bioengineering.

@averagewhiteguy I doubt I would have gotten in if I didn’t take those classes. I’ve seen other people’s stats with those 34/35 ACT and 10% rankings.

Yeah nursing is competitive I hear because Pitt has one of the best nursing schools.

Nah u would have gotten in for sure. @ijustneedhelp those are killer stats

My son applied 7/8/16 still gasnt heard while lots if oters who applied much later heard already…
He did just apply to pitt 9/6/16 for two college in highschool classes will that delay his application for the fall ?

@moms123, College in High School should not delay his application. We received about 4,000 applications over the summer and the Admissions Committee just started meeting in September. They are currently working through all of those applications, so it may be that they did not get to your son’s application yet. He should hear back shortly, though.

You are always welcome to contact our office to check on the status of his application and make sure we have everything we need to consider the application complete: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

Got a letter from Pitt today, they want to see my mid year grades before letting me in. Does this mean that Im going to have to wait until January/February until my mid year grades come out and than send them to the admissions people then? God my life sucks.

does this also mean that I’m screwed?

@averagewhiteguy Yes. They want to see how you are performing your senior year before they fully admit you.

The average time to get a decision is around a month for Pitt right? I’m assuming its the longest if you apply right now as they have to start from all the summer applications first and catch up.

@ltownsam and all other who got admitted when did you guys apply and how long it took for acceptance?

@RSM0928

Applied in July.

Still waiting.

@rsmith0208 My D applied on 9/12 and received her admission email about 9/18 and letter about 9/23. She is OOS. However, she submitted her test scores way ahead.

@rsmith0208 My son (ltownsam) applied 7/25 admitted 9/11 In state and had his SAT sent in Feb

For the latest people who have been admitted, how are you finding out? Was your Program Status on the Pitt Passport changed to admitted or are you receiving the email/letter? Just trying to figure out if the powers that be have stopped updating program status and reverting back to way it was done in past years

My son received an email today saying that his application is in review and he will get a letter in the next couple of days or weeks.
I have no idea if this is good news or bad.
