Should I send my AP scores and/or SAT subject tests to Pitt? I don’t think they require them, but could my scores give me an advantage in admissions? I received an 800 on Math II, 770 on Bio, and 5’s on AP Stats, Bio, and Chem.
AP scores are not used for admissions by most colleges. AP scores are used only for course credit purposes - after admission. SAT subjects - if the college has not marked as required, they may not use it. But you should be able to self-report these somewhere on your app?
I got accepted to A&S for chem but then i asked for a reconsideration for the school of engineering, how likely is it that i could get into the school of engineering? @hailtopitt1787
Did your son end up receiving the acceptance or email? I am in the same situation where the app shows as admitted but the website simply shows completed. @bobOfBowie
@psychhh Congratulations! Yes. He got the email four days after we noticed the change in the app. The letter was probably a couple days after that. We are in state.
I saw couple of people getting scholarship letter last week. My son did not receive one yet. Are the scholarships
only for Instate students or every one is eligible?
Everyone who meets minimum requirements and applies by Dec 15 can be reviewed for scholarships.
The committee meets once a week, I think they have met only a few times so far. I would assume they look at a limited number of apps a week. Some applicants go through several rounds of review.
The process is very competitive. Notifications go out from November till March I believe.
@OldCheermomDC, You should hear within 2-4 weeks of the date your application is marked complete (just an estimate based on average turn-around times).
@yunakk21, We do not review AP scores or SAT subject tests for admissions. No need to send them. Best of luck!
@COof2017HH, I am not able to comfortably chance anyone for a couple reasons: 1) I don’t have full information about your applicant profile. 2) I don’t want to speak for the Admissions Committee on individual decisions. I CAN say that they will work hard to turn your review around as quickly as possible and get you an answer. Best of luck!!
@rsmith0208, Scholarships are available to OOS students. The Scholarship Committee Started meeting this week and reviews applicants on a rolling basis. They will send out offers weekly from Nov-Feb. So anyone who is selected for a scholarship will hear by March 1 at the latest. You can find a lot more information here: https://oafa.pitt.edu/financialaid/academic-scholarships/

@psychhh @hailtopitt1787 - Is there an IOS app that shows the application status better than the mypitt website?
@MedSciBud try this link https://psmobile.pitt.edu
@OldCheermomDC - thank you very much.
FYI - the ACT score I sent on 11/9 has not yet reached Pitt. Based on @hailtopitt1787’s message above re: GAP - Med deadline for even scores today, I am panicking. Luckily, the admissions processor is responding to emails and is trying to help.
@MedSciBud, Contact the processor is the right move. They will be able to help you.
Best of luck!

Hello
I just received an email with “#PittComingSoon” and a link to a video saying “accepted” and other stuff, does that mean I’m admitted?
Yes it does, Aretercalingo! Congrats!
My D was accepted today as well, and she is beyond thrilled. Pitt was at the top of her list!
Thanks
