****PITT CLASS OF 2021 DECISIONS THREAD****

Hi! I realized that I had been given access to the Student Center, Class Search, and Course Catalog. Was this a feature that had always been provided to applicants, or does this feature indicate anything about my application?

@serendipity27, Within a week or so of your application being submitted, you should get an email from our Computing Services team with information on your applicant ID. With that information, you can log in and check on the status of your application. If it has been longer than that since you applied, please check your spam and make sure you are using the email address you provided us with when applying. If you still can’t find the information, you may want to start by contacting the Help Desk at technology.pitt.edu. Hope that helps!

My psMobile hasn’t said admit or deny, but is giving me the option to choose whether I accept or deny admission…What does this mean?

@gabriellehope1, Based on many previous posts and our experience, an acceptance email should be coming from Pitt shortly. Best to wait for that as then it’s official.

As 2021orBust has stated, please wait for an official communication from our office. Best of luck!

DS was accepted into Dietrich about a week ago.
34 ACT
4.3 weighted/3.8 uw
OOS - Indiana
Major - Bio/Pre-Med
Class Rank 26/698

We’re hoping he might have a chance to hear something about merit aid but not sure. Good Luck everyone!

DD got her acceptance letter by mail a week ago and the letter confirming her qualification for Honors college arrived today. GAP invitation came somewhere in between by email. We’re hoping to hear about merit soon too.

@hailtopitt1787 my daughter applied to Pitt main and it is her dream school. She was accepted to Johnstown. She isn’t interested in attending that campus. Additionally, she originally put Psychology as her major, she would like to change to undeclared. So my question is two fold. Would changing her major reconsider her for main campus? If not is there any process to be reconsidered, as Pitt is her first choice. Thank you!

@pittmom2021, Changing her major would not result in automatic consideration. It would be best to contact our office to discuss this question: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

mom22DDs - can I ask your DD stats? We haven’t gotten notification about the honors college yet except for an email suggesting we check it out. He’s definitely hoping to qualify.

Just now remembered to post this. Applied 10/15, received decision 11/04 (Swanson Bioengineering)

ACT: 36
GPA: 4.00 UW
School does not rank.
OOS
NMSF

Received GAP invite about a week ago but have not heard about honors college/scholarships yet. Hope this helps! Congratulations to everyone accepted!

I applied to Dietrich at main as a premed major and got rejected. I got accepted into the Johnstown campus. I was wondering if I could apply to the Swanson school of Engineering for bioengineering at main.

@12345college, It would be best for you to contact our office about this: oafa@pitt.edu or 412-624-7488.

To give a little more context before you reach out: We do offer a process for reconsideration, however, less than ten percent of those requests result in a new decision and those that do are accompanied with significant new academic information, such as updated SAT/ACT scores and senior year grades. If you plan to pursue reconsideration, please email oafa@pitt.edu with your request and also detail what new academic information you plan to provide. Submission of supplemental information, such a recommendation letters, will not result in a new decision.

You can view the academic profile of students offered admission to the Pittsburgh campus here:

@hailtopitt1787 - I submitted my app on 11/9. Same day I completed the SRAR and also sent in my ACT. I received my portal access this weekend. Portal still shows SRAR and ACT scores yet to be received. I checked SRAR and it shows UPitt is linked. How many days does it usually take for the portal to update with these as received? Thank you in advance.

@MedSciBud, It takes several business days for the processors to confirm that we have everything and update the status in your portal. If you sent everything, it should be cleared out by the end of the week and your application marked complete.

After your application has been marked complete, what are the next steps and can you estimate how long it will take for a decision to be made?

@OldCheermomDC After you submit the application, there are no additional steps(assuming you sent in the Short Response Questions as well). It took a week for me to receive an acceptance; however this ranges from a week to four, depending on the number of submitted applications at the time that you submit yours.

@PAwind98 thank you for the response. Everything was submitted at once on10/30 and marked complete sometime last week. We’ll see what happens.

When should I receive my letter of acceptance if I received the email and video on November 10th?

@braves68 I’d expect you’ll be receiving it very soon. My email and letter both came on the same Monday, and I was accepted through the portal that previous Friday, if that gives you any indication of a possible timeline.
