****PITT CLASS OF 2021 DECISIONS THREAD****

Am I the only one who was told they wanted to see my mid year grades first? lol

rtsoccer - you are not. I’d be curious to know what, apart from good grades. Do they want any additional letters or other school information? Does having a good first semester record bode well for admission?

@suburbancat, No need to send letters or other information, whatever the Admissions Committee requested in their letter will be perfect! For a number of applicants, the Committee simply requests a little more information before making a decision - it doesn’t definitively point to any specific admissions outcome. Hope that helps clarify!

Accepted to Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences!
Accepted into Honors Program and GAP for physical therapy!!!

In-state
Weighted GPA: 4.35
ACT: 32

I was accepted into Pitt (Honors Program) on Nov. 14. I got invited to apply for the GAP at the School of Medicine, and I was confused about the recommendation letter process. The Evaluation Cover Sheet provided in the FAQ takes me to the same PDF document as the downloadable Evaluation Form. Would my recommenders need this to fill out and submit this form if they are submitting an online recommendation through the website?

Got admitted to Bradford campus!

General Comments:

Based on anyone’s knowledge, what are one’s chances to get into the Swanson School of Eng if they have asked for Mid-year transcripts

I have a 36 ACT and was accepted over a month ago OOS for Dietrich + Honors College. I have not received a scholarship letter yet… does this mean I’m out of luck for Chancellor’s? :frowning:

@shadyrainbows, Scholarship letters go out weekly from Nov-Feb. And the Scholarship Committee is automatically reviewing anyone who applies prior to Dec 15 for scholarships, including Chancellor’s. There is still time!

@hailtopitt1787 Is the invitation for applying to Chancellor’s in the same letter announcing the amount of scholarship?

Hi, I received a letter asking for my mid year grades and senior SAT/ACT if I was taking it senior year. I just received my ACT scores and although my math went up 2 points, my composite is actually lower than the one I submitted with my application. I know the ACT is not superscored so I am not sure if this recent test would help or hurt? Thank you.

@nothingworks101, We do look at ACT composite. I would encourage you to contact our office to discuss your specific applicant profile further: 412-624-7488.

Just wanted to update that we talked with admissions today and DS does qualify for honors college but not merit aid. Admissions explained that they superscore the SAT but not the ACT and that DS missed their “33” cutoff for merit aid with a 32 composite score (not superscore). Hope that helps

what is the average wait to receive an admission’s decision? I applied and had everything in my November 8th. Also, the pitt ios app says under the admission tab accept or decline, was not sure if that means I got in?

@dancer33 The exact same thing is happening with me…All of my application materials were marked complete on November 8th, and on the psm mobile app under admissions it says “accept or decline admissions for Fall 2017-2018 for Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences” on Thursday but I have not yet received an email or letter from Pitt

@dancer33 and @ncusa12, An official email/letter should be coming your way shortly. It can take several weeks for an admissions decision to be made and for you to receive notification. Please wait for the official communication from our office!

Best of luck!
