Does anyone know what that accept/decline thing means in the IOS app? I have that same notification and had everything marked as complete on November 9th, or somewhere around that.
My status on psmobile changed to “Accept or Decline” just now.
Got the acceptance email today!! Whooohoo!
Son received $40,000 merit scholarship letter today. Pre-med, in state.
4.4 wgpa
4.0 gpa
34 ACT
11/375
Congrats @Stevecof2017. Is that how the amount was described? Is it $10K per year? Seems like $40K would be more than the COA!
@showmetheMAC $40,000 total, 10K per year.
D applied 11/1, accepted to Dietrich A & S and the Honors College last week.
Scholarship letter received today (dated 11/12; postmarked 11/22) for 10K/year
OOS (Ohio)
GPA: 4.3W, 3.8UW
ACT: 34 (36 superscore)
Planning to submit the OAFA Cost Analysis Worksheet with award letters from other schools to hopefully increase scholarship offer.
Good luck to all!
I was admitted with a 3.8 cumulative GPA and a 29 ACT with rigorous course work. I applied to Arts and Sciences.
My psmobile changed to accepted on 11/23, received email with video (which was very cool btw) this weekend, but no updates to financial awards yet. I understand AO was closed for long weekend, but wondering (1) how long it took others to get fin aid and (2) whether psmobile or portal were updated with fin aid before the letter actually arrived.
@MedSciBud ----D applied late July, accepted late September with video, regular mail letter about 7-10 days later.
Financial aid has not started yet and the Pitt admissions rep who monitors here has said Feb-March I believe?
Merit scholarships, however, have started coming out. Is that what you are asking about? Merit scholarship information at our house arrived almost 2 months later. The portal does not get updated with merit scholarship information–or at least it hasn’t even here even after the letter has arrived.
Good luck!
@carachel2 - thank you - merit scholarship is what I was referring to. Sorry about mistyping. Thanks for the info. I will wait for the letter to arrive in the mail shortly.
D received her merit letter today, $10K/yr. Accepted to Dietrich with 4.0U/4.5W and a 34, OOS. Not gonna lie, it stung a little bit after spending last fall monitoring the 2016 thread. What a difference a year makes. Good luck to all you still waiting.
@showmetheMAC - what was the difference last year? Lot better merit scholarships?
@MedSciBud Pretty much. Yep.
@hailtopitt1787 if I asked for a reconsideration to get into a new college within the university, would they only accept or deny me or could they ask me to retake the SAT/ACT and/or send in mid senior grades?
@MedSciBud, as @Carachel2 said, the financial aid awards will come out in February. The portal will be updated in the spring to include financial aid and scholarships. For scholarships, letters have started going out. They go out weekly from now until March 1. It can sometimes take a little while for someone to hear back because it is not uncommon for the Scholarship Committee to review a candidate several times before making a final decision. Best of luck!
@COof2017HH, It is up to the Admissions Committee what they would feel they need to see. When requesting reconsideration, they will want to see some new academic information.

A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@hailtopitt1787 I received a letter in the mail today from a branch campus, does this mean I wasn’t accepted into main and was deferred or? Thanks.
I was just accepted to Pitt (3.4 GPA, 1990 SAT). You should get an email from them saying important info or something with a link to the decision. It says you can open it (it is a video saying Congrats) or wait for your letter (mine came 2-3 days after.
@Sandal, Is the letter admitting you to the regional campus? Any student who applies to the Pittsburgh campus and is admitted to one of our regional campuses instead should get a letter from our campus explaining the admissions decision and an admissions letter from the regional campus. If it is just information about a regional campus, then it would not mean anything one way or the other about your admissions status.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@sandal my D was admitted to Pitt main campus over a week ago and she also received a letter yesterday from a Pitt regional campus asking her to apply there as well with no app, no essay, app fee or recommendations needed and you will receive a decision and automatic scholarship considersation within 2 weeks.
