****PITT CLASS OF 2021 DECISIONS THREAD****

@Lindseybuchman It might be sometime this week or next week. It just depends but it will be soon

D received acceptance e-mail today; no mail yet. Applied to Dietrich Arts and Sciences; application complete on 8/13.

@dcplanner . Same here. Son gets full tuition at bama but really likes Pitt better! Hoping for some merit money here too

@dcplanner, are you instate?

@Lindseybuchman, if you just applied Aug 25, I would think it might be October by the time you hear something.

It would take a while for test scores to arrive, and applications from back in July have just started being processed.

Do you think they will keep updating the pitt mobile or do you think that was an accident this year? I don’t remember seeing anything like it last year so I wonder if that is new or something they didn’t mean to do.

I got my acceptance letter today and email yesterday. I applied to Dietrich for CS. 3.94 GPA unweighted and 35 act. Website still says that my application is complete. I applied August 22nd.

DD got the very cool acceptance email yesterday and the acceptance letter in the mail today. 4.4 GPA, 1/405, 35 ACT, many APs and Dual Enrollment courses. Application including SRAR submitted on July 24th.That took 7 weeks.

DD’s best friend applied the day after they opened the online applications, I believe, and she also just got the email yesterday. Not sure if she has the letter yet.

Now we wait to find out about any possible merit scholarships. When is the earliest that we might get scholarship information?

Good luck to everyone!

Oh! Also, Accepted at Pitt Main Campus, Dietrich School of A&S for Communications Sciences and Disorders (and she also plans to do Anthropology and Deaf Studies and ASL - the kid has big plans)

I also wonder at what point in the process she will receive any written confirmation that she is accepted for the GAP for the Speech Pathology and Audiology Graduate Program. I realize there are GPA requirements, so does that happen after final high school transcripts are collected? @hailtopitt1787 ?

@flashk …dig back a few pages on this forum and you can see a whole string of posts about merit scholarships.

It seems people started getting notified in November.

Good luck!

Does anyone know when I might hear back if I applied like two days after the application opened? 31 or 32 act depending on how they calculate and a 4.6 gpa. I understand it takes time but I applied pretty early and was just curious.

@soyunchico My daughters’ friend applied the day after it opened and she got the acceptance email this week. My daughter applied almost two weeks later and also got her acceptance email this week.
This year they are not using two parts of your ACT score. So your overall score is the number they use. Look at comments #1 and #6 on this thread and follow those steps and link. It may give you more information.

Good luck to you!

Highest composite ACT score is what the website says.

@soyunchico, If we have everything (scores, transcript or self-reported academic record, application fee, etc) then you should hear back pretty soon. Unfortunately, I can’t give a very specific estimate. The Admissions Committee just started reviewing applications a couple of weeks ago, it could be a few more days or possibly a few more weeks. Best of luck! And as others have said, we look at the ACT composite score.

@flashk, I have asked one of my colleagues about the timeline for GAP announcements. I will let you know what I find out!

Thank you everyone for the help. I know it takes a while and I completely understand why I have not heard back it just makes me so anxious haha. Congrats to everyone else that has gotten in!

@Soyunchico, I totally understand. Best of luck!

Does anyone know if the admissions committee selects applications somewhat randomly? I applied July 29th, and my application was marked as complete around August 10th. People who’ve applied after me are already getting acceptances/responses… Is this normal, or should I be concerned? Thanks

@outtahere2017 there are a bunch of us that applied early and haven’t heard back yet. I wouldn’t worry about it. I haven’t recieved a decision and I applied July 8th.

@hailtopitt1787 What are the qualifications to be eligible for the University Honors College? I was certain I met all of the requirements, but when my letter arrived today I was somewhat surprised to see that I was apparently not eligible.

@outtahere2017, The Admissions Committee just started reviewing applications in the last few weeks, so it will take a little while for them to review all of the applications received over the summer. The fact you haven’t heard yet shouldn’t be cause for alarm!

@engineur, You can find the eligibility requirements here: http://www.honorscollege.pitt.edu/course-eligibility
