Hi guys....

I just got accepted to Stony Book of SUNY.

I also got into Temple University in Philly but I chose Stony Brook.

Temple required me to take at least 2 exams online.
For English, I had to write an essay
And for math, multiple choice questions total of 50 questions.

What do I have to take for Stony Brook?

It doesn't say anything about test, at least not yet.

The letter of acceptance, the solar website says, I will get in 2 weeks.

The question is. If i do poorly on placement exam, Do I get rejected or possibly get cancelled on my acceptance?

What is the exam about?

Is it essay or multiple choice questions for english?

Thanks for your help

I really appreciate it.

You’re in - the test is just to see if you need English for Academic Purpose and what level of it; also it aims at placing you in the right math class (remedial, calculus, honors…)

thank you for the reply

so it will be alright that i do poorly on it?

no, it’s not alright, because if you do poorly in math you’ll have to take more remedial classes - i’d eprsonally hate having to take extra classes that don’t count. Review before the day of the test, especially basic things like algebra and geometry.
EAP is actually good, it gives you a little support system to improve your English for college papers (since your problems will be in part different from what native speakers would have.)
But the consequences aren’t horrible and certainly nothing dramatic.

Thanks for the reply MYOS…

I was accepted but I was just worried if I did poorly on tests then my acceptance would be revoked…

placement test has nothing to do with acceptance right?

no, it has to do with “placement”, that is, if there are 4 different levels of math that 1st year students can take, which one is the best for you?
