Places To Eat Out - SGV Edition

It is a franchise. I feel like the original was either in San Jose or Santa Ana.

Been to ALL of them except JR cafe. I'll write up brief reviews for them when I get home tonight. g2g for now.

You people are so lucky...be grateful. I live in Philly and we only have Sweet and Sour pork and General Tsao ;(((((((((((((((((((((

has anyone heard of top island on valley? i go there all the time w/ family.

ahh yes, forgot about top island. the wait there sucks too.

Ma's Halaal Chinese Food - usually good. Now, even the "sour" white cabbage isn't even sour. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

OMG PINK! I eat at pho 54 on Valley A LOT!! I was there like 4 days ago actually!! Thought it was pho 59 though.. not sure, but its the one on valley, opposite side of 888.

How many of you are from around the SGV area? Seems like A LOT.

haha, 888. I remember attending a wedding reception there and sneaking out to the baguette place because dinner was taking forever.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned baguette places yet? :p

Baguette menus are too simple, #1-16. Which one do you like pink? I think Lee's suck.

I like Lee's! I like their coffee. I think Lee's > Mr. Baguette.

Lee's coffee tasty. I like letting the ice melt to dilute it a bit. Mr. Baguette is inconsistent--sometimes it is really good and sometimes its sucks. Don't you love how they call out your numbers on the monitor in multiple languages. Bruin Cafe should do that.

Why? We're all whitewashed. No need.

Why not! It is awesome. Anyone mention Sunday Bistro yet? I believe it is in the same plaza as top island, in the corner. I recommend the rack of lamb.

** Har Lam Kee **
This is one of the most authentic Asian place of the list. Noodles are what they are most famous for. I found their “Won Ton” to be good as well as their “Yang Chow Fried Rice.” If you’re white and used to panda express, this is not the best place for you.

** Macau Street **
This is another authentic asian place. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re not used to eating asian food at home. The food is decent though.

** Litz Caf

Hainan Chicken Rice is SO OVERRATED @ Savoy's. It is definitely not bad, but OVERRATED to the max. I've had better at home. LOL.

Mr Baguette >> Lee's

Only because I like their bread more.

I asked my mom. She said the exact same thing.

I need to eat more baguettes.

What is the difference between Mr Baguette >> Lee's in terms of price ?

You guys should discuss not only the quality of the food but the price as well.

Please, please, do not go to ABC Cafe. There's a reason why it's cheap.

Spaghetti = die.

Price, if I can remember correctly, is almost exactly the same 2.50~2.75
