@TinTintoo I thought only the general decisions were out, not also the honors.
Awesome
FINALLY got word from the university today that I was accepted. So it sounds like Plan II decisions come by snail mail about a week later? Any chance they are still sending out acceptances?
Yes, @wila150 they should still have a couple to send out, because they had to hold some acceptances until a major had been assigned to that applicant.
@collegefind that gives me some hope. Son was just assigned his major (electrical engineering) yesterday and the acceptance read “while you are waiting for your Plan II decision…”.
@gobluemom85 That wording is very intriguing. Hmmm, I would have raised my eyebrows at that too. I don’t fully understand how admission to majors and honors notification influence one another, but I have heard that waiting on the major (especially if that major is in a different college) can delay the release of the honors decisions.
I was auto admit to the university and received acceptance to my 1st choice major a few months ago. And still nothing from plan II… Should I be worried?
I don’t know, but it’s not over yet. I expect they will have all their decisions out by the end of next week. Here is the class profile from all the previous years with the entering class stats for Plan II students. But essays count for a lot in their scoring rubric, so stats aren’t everything. http://www.utexas.edu/cola/progs/plan2/admission/profile-blog/classpro/index.php
Next week will be key. Hope most waiting hear the good news! Good luck to all waiting to hear from Plan II !
Anyone heard back from Plan II this week ?
My son just got his acceptance letter to Plan II today. He was auto admitted to UT back in September, but did not get admission to his major, Environmental Science Geography track, until Wed. Feb. 18 - the day before the big flood of acceptances came through. He got a wait-list letter today from LAH. He has not gotten any word from Dean’s Scholars yet. #1 class rank and a 2160 SAT (760R, 690M, 710W). AP Scholar with Distinction with 5’s and 4’s on 7 exams. Two subject tests: 780, 720.
@collegefind Congrats! to you and your son. Hopefully we hear something tomorrow.
@collegefind congrats! I was hoping your son would get in!
@collegefind congrats!
Thanks guys, hope there is more good news today for those still waiting!
@collegefind Contrats!!! Quite a long wait, but I trust worthwhile.
@collegefind Congratulations. No word yet for my son. I was hoping we would finally get a decision this week, even if it was a rejection. He wants all of his data points on the table before he makes his final decision, but I can tell he’s getting impatient.
Still waiting, and it’s already March 1st.

Why do you think you were rejected/accepted/deferred: I did not look up the acceptance rate or plan for this application far enough into the future; everyone I knew that applied before got in so I made a stupid assumption
