The Question:
Can Success be disastrous?

To most of us, success has a positive meaning i.e to be able to achieve what we wish for. Whether this is positive or negative depends on our individual goal.

Let us view the example of Bill Gates. Although, he did drop out of school (and at that time, many might have thought he has let go of his path of success), he had another goal which he could not have achieved if he continued college. His freedom allowed him to design "Microsoft" and operating system widely used today. Indeed, he became successful and his achievement has made so many of our lives easier. His success may have slo inspired young minds to chase after their dreams. Not quite a disastrous picture is it?

Now, we can talk about "Plan Successful". In this contemporary world, greed and jealousy has driven many of us to commit monstrous crime. In my country, it is very common to read in the newspaper headline about a man being murdered by his own sibling. Why? It was because of his wealth. Reports in those columns reveals meticulous plans constructed by the murderer to kill his or her own brother to get a grasp of the deceased money. If the murder is successful and the money being robbed, the plan is successful. Well this is a disastrous scene indeed!

So the success depends on our aim and how the aim affects us and others around us. Our success is advantageous if it motivates others in a positive way but can cause tragedy in other's lives if our intention is to cause harm.
