PLEASE HELP! NAVIANCE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION ISSUE

I requested a letter of recommendation from a teacher, but he hasn't accepted the request yet. The deadline is October 15th. (2 days from now).
I was wondering: If I send my Common Application first, would it be possible for my teacher to send it afterwards?

I heard that, if he has accepted the request on Naviance and it said "in progress" (it says "requested" for him right now), that Common App allows teachers to send a letter of recommendation after you send the Common App. However, I am not sure if this is the case if he hasn't even accepted the request yet.

I have talked to him face to face and he wholeheartedly agreed to write me a letter. He is a nice teacher and always on track, so I trust him to finish writing before the deadline, but I am not sure how Naviance works, and I am getting really freaked out.

Please help!

I would really appreciate someone explaining exactly what the heck I am supposed to do for Naviance.

Thank you in advance.

I would check with the teacher to make sure he actually received the request. If he has, then ask him to accept it and let him know you have an early application due 10/15. Are you sure the LOR is due the same day as the application?

The LOR is not due the same day, it is due on the 15th. What I do not know is whether or not the app will allow him to send a LOR despite not having accepted before I submit the common app (even if he does accept and finish it by the 15th). He just replied to me and said that he received the request and that he accepted it, so it might be a Naviance error. Therefore, the only problem is, IF the Naviance says that it is requested (but NOT accepted) and I turn the app in BEFORE it shows up as accepted, will the LOR still be processed? Or will it be ignored, since he wasn’t signed up as a recommender while I submitted the app?

You should be able to send your part of the application in and the teacher can send their part in later. You can always call the colleges and confirm if you are worried. Calling the college might be a good thing two because colleges keep track of all the phone calls and emails that a student sends and puts it into your file so when they look at your application they see you called and emailed and such.

I tried calling them, but it wasn’t open because of time differences. I’ll try again though, thank you. I would still appreciate some help from anybody that is familiar with Naviance just in case the phone call doesn’t go through again.
