Hello,
I was just reading on the UF website that in order to be considered for OOS tuition scholarships, an applicant must have submitted their application by November 1. Does that mean that since I submitted my app after that (Nov 10th to be exact) I will not be considered for ANY scholarships at UF?
Thanks for your help in advance

Since your application was submitted late, you are unlikely to be considered for scholarships -

I would recommend looking at some of the other Florida schools as financial safeties. For example, USF in Tampa has relatively low OOS tuition ($17K a year) and would likely award you a merit scholarship. It also has several excellent programs, including engineering. It’s on rolling admissions so apply soon so you can get an offer (and merit info) before the end of the year. The longer you wait, the less merit becomes available, so I would try to get it done in a few weeks (application fee is $30+ cost of sending SAT scores/grades).

Take a look at UCF, and perhaps New College of Florida (for the smaller LAC experience). They also offer merit scholarships.

You would also likely qualify for the honor’s program at USF and UCF, if that’s something of interest.

I’m sad to say that UF is not known for it’s merit scholarships (in-state or OOS)…

Good Luck!

Thank you guys for the help. It’s disappointing to hear that I likely won’t be getting merit-aid from UF, but it is what it is. I’ll take your suggestion @Gator88NE and look into UCF and USF. I’m not really looking for the LAC experience, but I still appreciate the New College of Florida offer. Well, looks like I have some more investigating to do. Thanks

It’s not uncommon for in-state students to be accepted to UF and UCF/USF/UNF, but choose UCF/USF/UNF for the merit scholarships/honors programs.

Good Luck!!
