Here are my questions

Which is harder to get into, any ivy league or a BS/MD program?

Which is harder to get into... Brown PLME or Harvard?

Answer the poll with two responses.

POLL will be totalled later for final results.

Much thanks.

It all depends on which Ivy and which BA/MD program

and Brown's PLME is supposed to have a lower % admit rate than Harvard, but I actually think that Harvard is harder to get into

yeah the first question has too many variables to answer.

Brown PLME is harder I'm pretty sure. like 5% acceptance rate??? that's half of Harvard's acceptance rate.

But, you have to consider that when they publicize 11% acceptance rate for Harvard that includes all the legacies, athletes, and URMs. For BA/MD programs, its usually the best of the best medical students going for the best medical positions. I know of more people getting into PLME & HPME, but getting rejected from Harvard. I know of one instance, vice versa. So, although I may like PLME and Co better, I think Harvard is harder to get into.

I'd say, take this poll after everyone knows where they got in. Without a doubt, many of the people on this forum applied to both. It'd be interesting how real statistical data shows.

hmm.. good point. it definitely will be interesting to see how it really plays out this year.

hmm thanks guys, any more opinions?

most students that apply to med programs are of the caliber to be admitted to ivy league schools. I applied to many BA/MD programs as well as Ivies a couple of years ago and you find the same caliber of students interviewing for spots in these programs/schools. I was accepted into the competitive ivies as well as the competitve and not so competitive BAMD programs. I ended up choosing a BA/MD program and am glad I did. Good luck.
