look at the picture, the ED2 bin seems about a quarter of the ED1
Accepted!!! Pomona 22!!!
Congratulations!!!
I got in for EDII, Pomona 22!!!
deferred; does anyone has any advice?
EDII accepted! Painful wait comes to an end. Time to celebrate!!!
@shlawendy A couple of years ago I heard an AO say that Pomona is different from many other colleges in that it does not like to string along their ED applicants. He said if someone is deferred, the committee saw something in her/his application that really interested them, but they would like the opportunity to see how the applicant continues to develop during their senior year (in other words, which way their grades/activities are going).
As far as advice, somewhat buried on Pomona’s admissions site is this: “If you have been deferred, we encourage you to submit any new testing (SAT, ACT or SAT Subject Tests) and ensure that we have your mid-term grade reports. Although it is not required, you are also welcome to submit additional materials (for example, an art or science supplement, one additional recommendation or a personal communication with your admission officer).”
What the heck is this Valentine’s day poem… aren’t they busy… >:P
@caleegalee They were on a 5 minute break
can someone share a stat on ED1/ED2 acceptances, GPA/Test score/extra curricular/etc. ?
Hello and congrats to all those accepted to Pomona! I’m a Parental Unit that was doing some research on Pomona as my daughter applied there RD. Came across this string of comments and got hooked. I became invested so to speak and read them straight through. I felt compelled to let those still reading these comments that this string gives me hope for the future. Seems like between school shootings, not stacking academically with the rest of the world, and all the other things said about this generation by news outlets looking for ‘clicks’ and ratings, that this generation doesn’t have much to offer. However, knowing my daughter, her friends, classmates and my personal anecdotes now reinforced by the comments here, I know that the future is in good hands. Those that were not accepted, don’t fret, you will land somewhere great, have wonderful experiences and fill your brain with all kind of useful and trivial information.
Does anyone know when decisions will be released for the regular pool?
Based on past trends, Friday March 16th is when decisions are likely to be posted.
For those who submitted music supplemental recording, did you get a newsletter from the music school?
^Yes I received a letter in the mail.
Pomona Admissions tweeted: “decisions coming soon…” Wonder what that could mean? My best guess is that they are going to be released (at the earliest) on the 16th.
any update on the notification date?
So the consensus is next Friday?
last years was the 17th, a friday. this year will probably be similar
Awesome. Good luck everyone!
