I'm an incoming student at the University of Washington and am considering applying for an MFA at Columbia in either fiction writing or acting. What are some qualities that set students apart in the application process other than their quality of work for the audition? What GPA is expected and what kinds of activities should I include on a resume to distinguish myself in the highly selective admissions process? I would like to learn from my mistakes in high school by planning out my education path and school choices in advance. Thanks for any input!

PS would it be better to transfer? UW was not my first choice for a school
Does it matter if I was rejected as an undergraduate for the 2014-25 year?
