Post-application major course

I am a CCC transfer and have already submitted my UC application for Fall 2014. I still have to take a major pre-req next semester, and I am also taking some extra classes and retaking one course so my GPA will dramatically rise next semester.

However, i will be notified of admission in April, before my pre req is even complete. I spoke to a counselor today and wasnt sure what to do but told me to contact UC admissions to let them know that I still have a math pre-req waiting to be complete next semester and that my GPA will dramatically rise due to taking new courses/retaking next semester AFTER my application is done... I have heard that the GPA after Fall semester is the one they use....

I know in a couple of weeks I will be able to edit my UC application to add new classes next semester, but will there be anywhere I can mention the above points. As of my fall semester GPA I may not be admitted but the GPA rise next semester could change that... I dont want to take classes next semester for no reason.

What should I do? I am a psych major applying to UCI, UCSB, and UCSC. Also I tagged to UCSB...how will that be affected.

UC’s use your Fall 2013 GPA. Some UC’s use Spring 2013 for TAG. It doesn’t hurt to state on your application that you are retaking a class in the spring, they make take it into consideration. I haven’t seen the supplemental application yet, but I am sure there will be a “comments” section similar to the one primary application.

What is your current GPA and your projected GPA with the pre-req class completed?

I wont know my gpa until fall is over. I am taking 4 units of physical education next semester, as well as taking my last needed major pre-req, and also retaking a class I got a D in this winter session.

on the original application, there was a part where you could enter spring courses… I put I am taking a major pre-req in spring so hopefully they keep an eye on that. “In progress” I believe is how they word it
