So I go to the Post Office today to find that it's closed. Now, I've searched online for closing dates, and no where does it say that it's going to be closed on New Years Eve. So I used the self-automated stamping device-thing, and got a meter with today's date on it. Does that count as being postmarked? It wasn't a main thing I was sending in, just a supplement recommendation from interning this past summer, but my teacher e-mailed me telling me that she was taking my main recommendation to the post office today....

Reassurances? Help?

Urgh :(

(And is this Post Office not open thing only in Georgia?)

Odd.. today's not a federal holiday so I don't know why the post office would be closed. But as long as you got the postmark (upper right corner of the envelope) with today's date on it, it *should *be fine... AdmissionsDaniel can probably confirm that.

The post office closed at 12pm today. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are considered half days for federal employees, which includes the post office.

If you used the self-automated service and got a 12.31 postmark than your mail will be fine.

This is why I advise about not procrastinating so much!!!

A number of other colleges have reps who answers questions on College Confidential -- just look for people with "College Rep" under their usernname.
