Long story short, I went through CEGEP as a QC student in humanities, got a good R score (34), moved on to study law at a QC university at both the undergraduate and graduate level. My undergrad GPA was 3.1 and grad was 3.3. Since the grades were curved at C+ that’s a bit above average. Dissatisfied with law, recently, at another university I started doing most prerequisites to study in a science program, and I plan to do physics and computer sciences. Realistically, what are my chances at applying for Mcgill? I lack a 3.6 undergrad and grad GPA, but I had a good R score ; however, both of these are unrelated to the actual program I plan on applying, so would the prerequisite classes count more towards my application? What are my chances of being accepted at Mcgill?
Best thing I can think of would be to call service point and ask them.
Frankly, they weren’t of much help outside of reiterating what their website says. They didn’t divulge the specifics of how they analyze each cases, or how mine would be. I’m still just as confused.
Maybe ask to speak to someone in admissions when you call.
You will just have to wait for a decision.
I would have wished for a bit more detail than that. I haven’t yet applied and was thinking about it. I feel like I may have trashed away any potential chances I might have had by going into law, regardless of how good any other grades related to a program I wish to apply to might be.
