Pre business Econ transfer student needs advice!

So I’ve been accepted into the pre business Econ program. I understand that I need to complete Econ 11 and 101 with a 3.5 average or higher in order to be accepted into business Econ. This worries me. I’m a 4.0 student and can generally pick up concepts fairly easily, but I know the UCLA’s course difficulty is on a completely different level than that of my community college. I’ve take. What would be considered the equivalent of Econ 1 and 2 at my community college, however I did so online and consequently did not learn much. I really don’t want to take Econ 1 and 2 at UCLA, and would much rather just jump into Econ 11. Now with that being said, I’m aware I will need to spend some time this summer preparing for Econ 11. My question is, what would the best way for me to do so be? I’m thinking of buying the Econ 11 textbook and teaching myself everything throughout the summer, but will I have the tools necessary to understand this myself? Or would I be best off getting a book equivalent to Econ 1 and 2 and learning those first prior to attempting the Econ 11 material. If anyone who has taken these courses could give me any recommendations, that’d be great. Also, anyth advice related to navigating my way through this major would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

When I went to the transfer day, the lady at the Economics booth recommended I review my calculus material to prepare for the classes. My plan is to spend about 3 weeks (1-2 hours a day) just looking through all of my old calc material since it’s been a few years since I took calc and my old econ 1 & 2 materials.

Anyone else have any input on this? It would be nice to hear from someone that has taken the classes.
