Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

@SingerDancerMom I did that same thing for the singing - my songs didn’t meet the requirement and I decided to send them anyway - I passed so it must not have mattered that much

WOW @DramaLove2020 !!! That’s encouraging to hear! Where did you submit and pass that you didn’t meet the requirements?

@SingerDancerMom I’d rather not say where… but it was my second song and it was a few years off of the year that they wanted which made it from the wrong era. I felt the same way - the stress of working on another song was just more than I could do at that point!

I am wondering about Manhattan School of Music and the specific monologues that they require…did this deter your child from applying and if not, do you think it matters if the songs are filmed pretty professionally but the monologue is more of a home job?

@CBSQandA - yes learning yet another monologue specifically for MSM was a deterrent in submitting a prescreen/application , sadly…the amount of work is already insane, just another specific request at some point we just had to say NO MAS

Anyone hear on prescreens from either Catawba or NYU Steinhardt? Thanks!!

@CBSQandA My son is a freshman MT at Otterbein this year and the Acting students have dance 5 days a week with the MT students and have private voice lessons as well this year. Many of the leads in their musicals are acting and not MT

Has anyone heard from Viterbo, Cincinnati, Ithaca and Roosevelt?

@DramaLove2020 we are impatiently waiting on CCM as well since 10/1 lol. I did read on CCPA that they are Sposed to results on Nov 1.

@HAHCx4 I have been waiting for them since early September!

@DramaLove2020 well that makes me feel a bit better. Perhaps it will be mid November like many of the others we still are waiting on. Also, yikes I just reread the gibberish I wrote earlier lol. CCPA (Roosevelt) is releasing prescreen results Nov 1. “Supposedly”

Yes passed Ithaca last week.

@mamaboyz when did you submit? I just did last week so I know it won’t be soon, just trying to get a gauge

It was exactly two weeks.

Anyone hear from Marymount for regional prescreen results?

Rider seems to be taking a long time…submitted on 10/2 and still haven’t heard. Did most everyone hear within three weeks or did it take longer for some?

@CBSQandA I heard in about two weeks from Rider - submitted on 10/1 and got an email from them on 10/15

I think I read on one of the application guidelines that prescreens are not supposed to be editing during the performance portion of the clip. So many details for so many schools to keep straight. This is not an easy process!

@DramaLove2020 OMG this is so encouraging to hear–audition coach just gave harsh notes on son’s prescreens. You may not want to say here but can you PM me and say where they took your “not requirement correct” prescreens and passed you?

I think the example given re not following guidelines is the least risky, it sounds like they just were off by a few years in terms of the older songs requested. But the other question about monologues, basically the ones that ask for oooold ones want Shakespeare so it’s easy to tell if you missed the requirement or not. I think there’s leeway on a few seconds over etc. but why risk it with a bigger component?

Think of if this way, they have 1,000 videos (literally) to watch, if they feel miffed you didn’t follow its easy to just pass on you and move to the next. They have plenty of kids to say yes to. Also in the audition room folks from years past say there are literally a large percentage who come in not prepared, with not having music cues etc so they pass on those pretty quickly. This process is overwhelming, so I totally understand the temptation, but would hate to feel you were missed for a reason like that.
