My D passed the Michigan Theatre Design & Production portfolio “pre-screen” (sounds like a prescreen from the website re: portfolio review) and has been invited to interview! So excited for her – she’s having a very morale-boosting week, which was much-needed after the absolute killer non-stop app submission early November and Thanksgiving break. ? (And still a few more left to go.)
@MuTh2024 We applied artistically and academically on November 30th. So they took 7 days.
@SavsMom I applied that day too, and I haven’t heard anything back. Ughhh I’m nervous!! I’m hoping for the best!!

And I am still waiting on CCM - submitted in August - my very first prescreen because I was pretty sure it would be a fast NO - and now will be the last response I get!!!

Good luck @mkendell - you’ve got nothing but tough and super tough admissions schools, I’m guessing you aren’t a fan of the “balanced list”! :lol: Hoping at least one of them comes through as a yes for your D, for sure they are all great schools.
My DD created her list with her director of Theatre at Interlochen and the rest of the theatre faculty , where she is a boarding student there majoring in theatre. They spend junior and senior year researching and cultivating their lists and the school supports them in the process, giving careful thought and consideration to the choices on their college lists. Yes, admissions have gotten crazy… lottery style! The placement of Interlochen students is usually pretty solid, they usually end up landing in the right places for each of them:) @CaMom13. Happily, DD is a YoungArts finalist in Theatre, so we are hopeful that this will help with admissions to a few schools. I think with all the hard work and preparation all of our MT and theatre kids put in, it seems they end up at a great fit school for each of them! BAL to them all!
How long did it take for Rider to respond? We are still waiting and submitted everything before November 1

My son has passed: Carnegie Mellon, Pace, Florida State, Otterbein, Boston Conservatory and Coastal Carolina.

Has anyone received an admission decision from BW yet? They stated the 10th would be decision day.
I emailed yesterday and they said her prescreen was still under review and they would be contacting us “soon.” I wonder if they are waiting for more prescreens before they offer all their spots at the LA Unifieds?
@NeensMom we applied after you and got a reply. Maybe because I have a son? I know its getting more competitive with males, but it still isn’t to the level of female competition. I wish you all the best!!!
