Pre-screen

So my D’s online portal now says “A Decision Has Been Made.” How long until we receive word whether she’s been academically accepted?

It was less than a week, and that included Christmas.

Thank you entertainersmom. :)

It was 2-3 weeks. The wait times seemed to be all over the place!

Happy New Year, everyone!

The academic acceptances through the Office of Undergraduate Admission roll out soon after the application is complete with transcripts, letters of recommendation, essay, scores, etc. The MyPace Portal displays the status, so you can always to see what’s missing. So if a long time has passed with it being complete, I recommend calling the Admissions Office to check - sometimes, the system thinks it’s complete but upon review, the counselors need to see additional information. That, or there is a long queue of applications on or around that date of submission.

As another note - here in Pace Performing Arts we’ve never required that a student be admitted BEFORE auditioning. If we did that, many would miss out on auditioning all together. But we DO require that you are admitted before sending the audition result letter in March. If you haven’t been admitted when we start sending the letters, we have to wait until Admissions makes their decision before mailing it out. This is to avoid confusion surrounding admitting a student to PPA who has been denied to the University.

Best,

Wayne
Pace Performing Arts Recruitment Coordinator & Incoming Advisor

Thanks, Wayne. Has it ever happened that a student’s audition was scheduled but received an academic rejection before the audition?

WoooooHoooo! D received her academic acceptance with a pretty fantastic academic financial reward! Onto the audition at Unifieds in Chicago!! :)

Yay DoReMiMom and D!!

Son’s audition is in NYC and I’ll be sure to write a report! I felt good when son received a nice merit scholarship from Pace because now I know there is only one hurdle left, not two.

Congratulations entertainersmom  Also I meant award not reward (although I’d likely refer to it as a reward for the parents who stress WAY more than the kids! LOL).

Ditto here: my S got his acceptance letter and a nice Presidential Scholarship in today’s mail! Congrats to everyone else who got the good news too, and break legs at the audition!

Got my acceptance packet with a pretty great scholarship offer! Hope everybody recieves good news. Everyone I know received very good news as well

Congrats on these acceptances/scholarships! D’s status says “decision made”, and we are waiting with fingers crossed for the news-it has been a little over a week, so she is starting to get stressed!

Does anyone know if Pace ever does walk-ins? Honestly, I’d love to audition but because of the $75 price tag to possibly not even pass a prescreen, I might not be able to. Trying to see if there’s some other way or a way to at least have the prescreen be live (Videos are never my strong point).

My d submitted her Pre-Screen last week, and based on the “within 1 week” guideline, expect to hear something by Wednesday.

We have also been expecting something in the mail since the first of the year, when her account status listed “A decision has been made and your official decision letter has been mailed to you.”

MTthewayforme, what would be the point of a school going to the trouble to prescreen everyone before letting them audition if they then just let anyone audition who walked in off the street? On the other hand, I have heard that some schools do just that – unfair, but it happens!

MTthewayforme, I believe that this may be the first time that Pace will audition MT at regional unifieds, so I don’t think there will be any walk in history that anyone can give you. There is an on campus audition the same weekend as NYC unifieds and I would say no walk ins there.

The academic acceptance came today, along with a lovely scholarship…yay!

Congrats, frazzled!!!

We got ours yesterday, acceptance and scholarship…very exciting but as my husband says only 1/2 the story:( Congrats to all and fingers crossed on the next phase.

Sticking out my tongue at downer dad!!! It’s still VERY exciting! Congrats to your daughter!
