who has heard already? and if you have when did you submit your application?

I submitted early October and heard 11/13.

YAY. i finally heard.

i got my semi-finalist stuff today.

geez. that was very stressful.

lil-When did you send in your application? D sent hers at the last possible moment . . . when she called for info about certain documents they asked her her test scores and when admissions heard she had a 34 ACT (they translate a composite 34 to a 1520, I guess) they told her to get her app in that week.

Oh and by the way congrats on your semi-finalist status! (both of you)

thanks

i submitted about 10 days before the deadline so maybe thats why i heard now. i wouldnt worry.

and they also sent information about resume submission through e-mail . . . . if anyone was wondering about that ( i was)

Submitted app. Oct. 17, got the PSP packet today (12/06).

Thx for the response. Her file just clicked over to Application Complete today from In Process. She probably won't hear for a week.

When admissions was told that it takes her school 2 weeks from the time of request to send transcripts, counselor letters, etc. and that the school was closed the entire week for Thanksgiving and will be closed for winter break between Dec 20 and Jan 4 deferring any request made till mid January, they told her to just send the docs in now. Her school makes calls to the parents in late October to remind them that students will not be able to get transcripts or counselor letters sent after Thanksgiving break.

i applied like october 29 and i heard two weeks ago

um...do you get them the same time as your acceptance?

Did you get your acceptance? D got her PCP Semi on Friday and still hasn't received acceptance. I think these are going out of different offices.

Hi UnivMom:

Did your DD ever receive her acceptance package? We're now in the same boat. The PSP package arrived in the mail today, but we haven't received the acceptance package. Application status went from "In Process" to "Complete" on the same day as the date on the PSP cover letter.

Which would you rather receive first? :-) All semi-finalists have been accepted before they are chosen as semi-finalists. And it looks like four times as many people are accepted early than have been accepted early and chosen as SF...

Oh. absolutely we would rather have the PSP SF package!! :-) DD is positively thrilled to be in the running for this. Good luck to all the CC'ers being considered!

She received acceptace package yesterday. Good thing everything is done early, the transcript office (and other academic records) is closed through Jan 4, due to construction. Can you believe that. Srs were told this a week ago.

Thanks UnivMom for the reply. I'm glad you are all squared away. Wow! What a terrible time for the transcript office to close with so many application deadlines coming up on Jan 1! I feel for those seniors that have left things to the last minute. Based on your experience, we'll look for DD's acceptance package in the next week or so.

Yeah! I gave her school counselor one of the sealed transcripts that I had on hand to fill out the PSP forms and asked her to put it in Ds file in her office for others writing recommendations. She had tried to access the computer files for her verification and it was down already.

I don't know how our district expects these kids to meet scholarship deadlines. I was warned by a friend whose son graduated 31/2 years ago to go ahead and buy a bunch of official transcripts and just leave them on file in the local transcript office (our school seals them in with a stamp and label - real obvious if it has been tampered with). Chocolate will get you everywhere.

The sealed transcripts are a great idea. I don't think our school district offers anything like that. So far (fingers crossed so as not to jinx it!!) D's school guidance office has been right on top of everything and sending transcripts out within days of them being requested. I hope they continue the trend now that it is crunch time and the holidays are right smack dab in the middle of it all.

And I agree, chocolate is most definitely the answer to most of life's problems. :-)

i just scheduled my PSP alumni interview.

they called me.

Could someone please tell me about this scholarship? Early thanks for any information you can share.

Lilshamz, when did you hear about your semifinalist status? I still haven't heard about my interview. Can you give a general area of the country you live in? Anyone else hear?
