I encouraged my daughter to apply to one of the honors programs as well. She applied to CBHP (she had no interest in Fellows) but was not invited to finalist weekend. She was accepted into the program from the reserve pool during her Bama Bound, long after she had decided to attend, so it made no difference in her decision. Participation in CBHP definitely enhanced her UA experience, though.
