@highlyambitious I sent an email a while ago to the Princeton Admissions office and got a reply from the Assistant Director of Admissions, Alexander G. Bustin. I wasn’t actually expecting a reply because I had sent updates to Princeton’s Admissions office before (using the generic email that can be found on their website) and hadn’t received any replies then. However, I probably received a reply this time as the most recent email I sent wasn’t an update, but a short enquiry about the status of all waitlisted candidates, which the people in the admissions office then forwarded to the Assistant Director of Admissions.

And just to pre-empt any questions about his email: basically, the answer I got about the waitlist was that it is still open, people have been taken off of it this year (which we already know as some lucky people have been kind enough to post!) and we will be contacted about the waitlist if we are accepted or when it closes. Those are mostly things that we on this forum know already but it was very nice of Princeton to reply!

I got off the waitlist about 2 weeks ago. However, I am pretty set on attending Duke, so I hope someone else will benefit :)

@terminatorp thanks for letting all of us know and best wishes at Duke! Would you mind sharing what you’re thinking of majoring in and where you’re from? I have a feeling any chances of being admitted are slipping away now as it’s late June and I’m also an international applicant, so it would be more hassle to admit me and go through the visa process, but I’ll still be holding out hope right up until I get that final letter from Princeton and it would be interesting to see what kind of people they’re admitting

@vanessa123 I am in the same boat as you!

@highlyambitious I received a short “thank you, this has been added to your file” response to my most recent update that I sent to the admission office’s general email address a couple of weeks ago. I had not received replies for the few updates I had sent prior to this (except for the first, but for that one I had asked the office to confirm that they received it). My guess is that replies depend on the admission officer who reads your email.

Guys, I just got the call like right now! Accepted off the waitlist! :)

@aymusia oh my goodness, congratulations! I really didn’t think they would take any more people this late so that’s amazing! What kind of major are you looking to do and where are you from? So jealous right now!

@aymusia I bet your family must be so proud of you!

Haha, thanks! It was completely unreal and I still can’t believe it! It’s going to be a tough decision though, because it is so late and I prepared for college elsewhere, but it was like #1 for me! I’m probably BSE, some sort of engineering.
I didn’t send in any supplemental materials through the waiting process, so I guess it doesn’t make too big of a difference?

@aymiusa Ahh, well, now you at least have the choice of choosing whether you want to go to Princeton or not! It’s a good problem to have! And that’s good to know about the supplement stuff - I personally did send updates but only because I didn’t want to regret not trying my best to get off the waitlist later, if that makes sense? When do you have to reply by?

Did you ask whether they were still calling more people?

Haha, I wish it were a good problem! It’s so tough but so easy too! I have about 5 days until Monday or something like that, I’ll get the package in the mail soon.
^Sorry, I didn’t ask since I was in such a haze and shaking like crazy. :/

@aymiusa haha, I probably wouldn’t have the presence of mind to ask either, given the circumstances! Have fun deciding :P

Accepted off the waitlist this afternoon! I’m ecstatic. It seems as though even this late into June, they are still utilizing the list, so stay positive guys!

@Areed21996 Congrats! I don’t suppose you’re international? (That would give me hope that they’re considering internationals too, despite how late in the game it is and how much issue we pose!)

@vanessa123 Although I am not international, I would ceartinly not give up hope yet while still remaining focused on your backup school. I never could have imagined this honestly. This late in June I pretty much expected a resounding no. Everything will work itself out in time. Have faith, and I wish you the best!!

@vanessa123 And thank you!

^Whoops, forgot to add, I’m not international, I’m from the Midwestern US area but I do know a kid from my school who got in Early Action, and a couple friends from the East Coast too.

@Areed21996 thanks for the well wishes! I’m just going to hold onto faith that I will end up where I’m supposed to and I know I’ve tried my best and that’s all I can ask of myself!

@aymiusa I know a girl in the UK who got in EA too - and I have a few acquaintances who got in RD It’s just been a little bit of a struggle dealing with the wait list because I don’t know anyone else in the same position as me and I’m trying to expect nothing but hope for more! Thanks for replying!

@vanessa123 Don’t give up hope! It’s not over yet, as spots may open up over these few days, and still keep faith while also thinking about the college you are committed to right now. To be honest, I felt hopeless after getting on the waitlist because I know how strong the class typically is, and I tried to funnel my mind elsewhere while still hoping in the depths of my heart. I’m not sure I ever could have fathomed this, but it proves that magic is indeed possible! I wish you the best of luck, regardless of where you’re attending next year. The fact that you got wait listed from Pton of all places, period, was an enormous accomplishment in itself! :)

@aymiusa Bless, thank you for the pep talk :’) I’m just finishing up exams in England (three more to go!) so a pep talk is just what I needed!
