Princeton Class of 2019 Applicants

@Cantiger I guess that was my point, that the acceptance rate is much higher. What I said is what I was told at an information session at Princeton when I went last summer. Someone asked a similar question and the admissions officer responded that there is a statistical advantage but no competitive advantage

Just curious, how often do deferred applicants get admitted in the regular round?

@mcfrankshc Very few…I’d say no more than 100. Deferrals are the worst because the agony is simply prolonged.

@LukeBK I wouldn’t sweat it. Your report probably went in on time! Also, I’m pretty sure the deadline Princeton sets for interview reports is a soft one.

@mcfrankshc I can’t find exact stats, but I have more than just a feeling that the deferred -> admit rate is something ridiculous like 3%. If I get deferred in 2 weeks I’ll take it like a rejection and move on with my other apps.

Dont know exactly but I’ve read somewhere that the deferred acceptance rate is similar to the RD acceptance rate, if not a little bit higher.

FINALLY GOT IN CONTACT WITH MY INTERVIEWER vigorously dances around house

@ScienceDaddy its not going to make a difference in your admissions, though.

@alfawarlord Don’t kill my vibe, sir. Allow me to openly revel in my small moral victory, however insignificant it may be.

Wow I had no idea the deferral rate was so high, 78.9%!

Ok, so the day of reckoning is getting so close, and I’m beginning to get nightmares. Umm…after sending your tax forms, do you get any confirmation that they’ve been received? Cause, I didn’t get any, and I had a horrible nightmare where I got no aid because my tax forms were not in…therapists? :((

Btw, @ScienceDaddy congrats! I totally know how it feels, when after WEEKS of waiting, your interview suddenly contacts you. It’s like…it’s like…rain in the desert!

I didn’t get any tax form confirmation either…just online app confirmation

Oh God! The suspense is killing me! You know, sometimes, I just check the applicants’ portal just to see of the decision came earlier. You think by now they’re done deciding?

@hopefulperson Whew! That means if my nightmares come alive, I’m not the only one not going to get aid! =))

the admissions office said that an official date of decisions should be emailed to all of us in the nest couple of days @-)

**next

@LukeBK HAHA ME TOO I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!! I occasionally check my applicant portal to see if they somehow release the decisions earlier by accident…even though I know it’s totally unrealistic!

oh dear god I forgot about those tax forms too

My inability to be organized is really catching up with me
